Weir (full set)

MMJ (full set)

Hoping Wilco's set isn't too far behind.
-
They definitely played You Are My Face. The whole show was outstanding. I loved Wilco's set, but I'm calling MMJ as my favorite set of the night. Bob Weir's opening set was really great and I was pleasantly surprised at Dylan, too. We were in the pit and the whole night was just great.
MMJ sound checked I Know You Rider and Brown Eyed Women, too, so that could pop up in tonight's set. We also heard Bob Weir checking Playing in the Band and Jailhouse Rock.

Also, there's a free download of Traveling Alone on JasonIsbell.com

I'm a huge Isbell fan and was lucky enough to get to listen to Southeastern last weekend and it's really great. Amazing songwriting and production.
Easily, his most consistently good album in my opinion. Standout tracks for me are Stockholm, Elephant, Live Oak & Songs She Sings in the Shower.

Holy crap, so excited about Bob Weir being added to the Atlanta date.
-
The Atlanta venue has always been reserved seating, plus a general admission lawn behind the reserved seats. If you have a seat number, it should be reserved. To my knowledge, there has never been a general admission show there.
When I saw REM there back in 08, they had a tiny GA pit up in front of the reserved sections, so I'm thinking that may be the case. While I'd certainly prefer to have a seat, I'm happy either way.
-
I got really lucky and scored two pit tickets for Atlanta. My tickets say Pit Row 5 but LiveNation said Pit Row 5 General Admission, so I'm not sure if there will be actual seats or not, but either way I'm psyched.

Just thought I'd pop back in here with a little update. I'm loving Strangers Almanac & Love is Hell. I haven't listened to Jacksonville City Nights, yet, but I did grab a copy of Heartbreaker and you were right, it's a masterpiece.
-
Based on your suggestions, I just bought Love is Hell, Jacksonville City Nights & Strangers Almanac.
Thanks again for the input.

Thanks for the suggestions, I really appreciate all your input.
Browsing on iTunes reading reviews, and I'm surprised to find Heartbreaker isn't available on there.
I'll narrow down my search and make a few purchases tonight or tomorrow. Definitely going to grab a Whiskeytown and a solo disc, just gotta narrow it down.

Does anybody want to recommend me a couple of good Ryan Adams albums to grab with the iTunes gift cards I got for Christmas?
Back when Amazon f'd up and briefly priced the Live After Deaf MP3's at $7.99, I grabbed the set and totally fell in love with it. Now, I'm looking to venture into the studio albums and am slightly intimidated and could use some recommendations.

Bad Books - II
Shins - Port of Morrow
Gaslight Anthem - Handwritten
I feel like I'm missing something obvious, so I may be back to revise this...
-
That's the truth.

I'm pretty excited about seeing them at Music Midtown here in Atlanta. It'll be the first time I've seen them and slept in my own bed afterwards since April 2003.

Night Two:
One Sunday Morning
Art of Almost
I Might
Muzzle of Bees
I am trying to break your heart
One Wing
At least that's what you said
Capital City
Misunderstood
Jesus, Etc.
Born Alone
Box full of letters
War on War
Standing O
Rising Red Lung
Impossible Germany
Dawned on me
Shot in the Arm
Encore:
Whole Love
California Stars

I Got You
OuttaSite
Amazing show. Last night was great, but this far surpassed it. Passenger Side & I'm the Man Who Loves You were both on the set for the encore and not played.
-
Did anybody think Jeff's comment at the end of the show along the lines of "please come back tomorrow, plenty of tickets available and we'll play lots of different songs," was pretty indicative that they may have really undersold for two nights?
I was down in the front of the orchestra and the crowd was mostly really great. Very attentive for Nick Lowe & Wilco. I was a little bummed when almost the entire orchestra, except the front row, sat down for One Sunday Morning. Kinda seemed disrespectful to me.
-
Not exact order or all the songs, but:
Art of Almost
I Might
Side with the Seeds
Ashes of American Flags
Bull Black Nova (pretty sure the only song from The Album)
Impossible Germany
Via Chicago
Shot in the Arm
I'm Always in Love
Standing O
Whole Love
One Sunday Morning
Encore:
Taxman ? with Nick Lowe
I Love My Label with Nick Lowe
Jesus
Late Greats
I'm the Man that Loves You
Heavy Metal Drummer
I'm missing several songs, but it seemed very heavy on new album songs.
I tweaked your setlist a bit to add a few more songs and re-arranged a few. Probably still not complete.
Art of Almost
I Might
Ashes of American Flags
Black Moon
Side with the Seeds
Bull Black Nova (pretty sure the only song from The Album)
Impossible Germany
Via Chicago
I Am Trying to Break Your Heart
I'm Always in Love
Born Alone
Standing O
Dawned on Me
Handshake Drugs
One Sunday Morning
Encore:
Taxman/36 inches (?) with Nick Lowe
I Love My Label with Nick Lowe
Shot in the Arm
Jesus
Whole Love
Late Greats
Heavy Metal Drummer
I'm the Man that Loves You

Just grabbed my tickets from will call on my lunch break. FYI, CEC is letting folks get your tickets for both nights all day today. Pretty relieved not to have to stand in the line during the mad rush to get from work to the show.
-
Can anybody comment on start and set times for the last few shows? I'm going to the two ATL shows and between work, traffic & babysitters I've got a lot of moving targets to hit to get there on time. The venue's website says the show starts at 8. Would it be safe to assume that Wilco won't start before 9?
Obviously, I'm really hoping to catch Nick Lowe at least one of these two shows but that totally depends on the stars aligning just right to get my ass there by 8.
-
I'll be at both nights. Cobb Energy Center is a great venue and I'm beyond excited to have two nights of Wilco there.
-
I did pretty well for both Atlanta shows. Got Row A for night 1 in the venue presale and Row EEE for night 2 in the Frontgate presale. I've been really lucky with Frontgate over the last few years, so no complaints from me.
-
i really like this album. the slide guitar sounds like david lindley. i live in south, so even though i'm not a southerner i have a soft spot for jason and truckers. solid album in my opinion. cool artwork too. wish they were hitting atlanta on the current tour.
They played an awesome show last Thursday night at The Earl in Atlanta.
-
I grabbed Big Echo last night after seeing your post reminded me that I liked these guys when they opened for Broken Bells. Have listened once and really enjoyed. We'll see how it settles in after a few listens, though.
-
I just grabbed WInter of Mixed Drinks & Midnight Organ fight from Frightened Rabbits. Will put them in the rotation and see if it sticks.
