  5. What did Andrew Bird do during "Spiders"? Looks like a great set. I'm so jealous I'm missing out on all this hot guesting action.
  6. Who praises Lennon's output 1972-1980? No one I've ever heard of. And, in my opinion, Exile has many songs that 'clear the fences': Rocks Off Rip This Joint Casino Boogie Tumbling Dice Sweet Virginia Torn and Frayed Sweet Black Angel Loving Cup Happy I Just Want to See His Face Let it Loose Shine a Light Soul Survivor For a double album, Exile is amazingly consistent. Best double album ever? I think so!
  7. It was a great show. It was my 6th show, and the first since seeing them in Fayetteville last April. This show was a tenfold improvement over that one. That show just had a weird vibe. This show was probably the best I've ever seen them actually play, but you can't beat it when the crowd is all standing and mashed together at club shows. I hope Wilco finds a venue to play in Arkansas without seats. Highlights - Too Far Apart (people actually knew the AM songs here), Impossible Germany (it goes without saying, but Nels went OFF), Via Chicago, the gong, Jeff and Pat doing their synchronized gu

  12. Hey, everyone. Haven't posted in a while. Anyways, I caught the end of the Beastie Boys concert film on VH1. In case you didn't know, they shot this film by giving out cameras to people in the audience to use and cobbled it all together into a (semi)cohesive film. Pretty cool stuff. During the credits, they had a list of the various camera operators, one of whom was named Jeff Tweedy. Can we assume it's our Jeff Tweedy? Sorry. Just something funny I noticed.

  15. Velvet Underground White Light/White Heat Velvet Underground and Nico Loaded Has anyone heard 'Le Bataclan '72'? Lou Reed, John Cale and Nico did a one-off show in Paris (?). It has its moments.
  16. Let's do it again, yeah! M. Ward, "Chinese Translation" Tom Waits, "Frank's Wild Years" Loituma, "Ievan Polkka" Blind Willie Johnson, "John the Revelator" White Stripes, "Red Rain" My iPod seems to be on a Harry Smith kick today.
  17. I was driving around and pulled out "American Water" and listened to it - what a record. Berman's a genius, and if you haven't been listening so far, it's never too late to start. A great band, one for the ages. If you haven't heard of them, download: "Trains Across the Sea" "How to Rent a Room" "Black and Brown Blues" "Random Rules" "Like like the the the Death" "Smith and Jones Forever" "Slow Education" "Death of an Heir of Sorrows" "Punks in the Beerlight" "Animal Shapes" ...and you'll be hooked.

  21. Darling, there is something I must tell you, you must know. But it's so hard to say the words I feel. This fancy that I'm on has been going on too long. It's time we stopped pretending things are real. 'Cause I've been living deep in sin. I've been living blind. And I don't know just what's right or wrong. To take a chance on losing you was such a silly thing to do. The chance I might wake up and find you gone. Blue, so blue, my love is burning blue. Any brighter flame would be a lie. Blue, so blue, my love still burns for you, But I know that I'll only make you cry. A thief can o
