  1. Absolutely stellar show. Wondering why I had not seen the light show mentioned before, but it was AMAZING. I woke up with it playing on the back of my eyelids this morning. Wilco always ups their game. Gotta love that in a band. Also I have to say, I love that they played One Sunday Morning. The crowd actually had to quiet to listen for once. Made up for the drunk girl behind me screaming the lyrics to the other recent hits.
  2. I am so pumped for tonight at Hill in Ann Arbor. I am a long time Folk Fester. (Last year's Ben Folds closer was Bitches Ain't Shit, which really blew the roof off the place. Some of the old timers were outraged, but what is folk music for but outrage.) The line-up always makes for a wonderful show and usually introduces us to new artists we grow to love: Richard Shindell, Vienna Teng, and Martyn Joseph (I even got a kiss from him along with an autograph). Tonight that joy is combined that with my favorite musician in the world, utter bliss, and my first time seeing him solo. We'll be th
  3. Had to post this shout out from the New York Times appreciation of On the Road, equating our beloved songwriter with the Beat great. We Wilco fans know that plaintive, restless hum well. "Above all,
  4. Hey NY Times hit the web before via chicago fans: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/06/27/arts/mus...7wilc.html?8dpc
  5. I hope we can make it. Unfortunately DH is in a conference in Covington until 6:30. Fortunately really, that's why were making the road trip... What a blast it would be to meet you all!
  6. I am a newbie to posting at the site. (I confess, I am a chronic lurker...love the downloads.) Anyway, I will be at Cincinnati with the DH but I'm pretty sure we won't be able to make it to the pre-show gathering. I'd love to meet some of you though. If someone shouts Via Chicago (prior to the band coming out,of course) does everyone stand up and wave, or windmill as the case may be?
  7. Wow. Little did I know, the VC'ers are everywhere too. Thanks for the links to your video. Wonderful show. Yes I am an Ann Arborite at heart, but alas a mortgage refugee. I live in a small town west of A2. Today I'm so excited to be getting ready for a road trip to accompany the DH to a conference...in Cincinnati. And so I get to go see my favorite band for the first time in 8 months!! I can't count the number of times I've seen them, but I still get charged up. Hope the skies are as blue over the Arnoff as there are here in Chelsea.
  8. It seems Wilco is everywhere. Last night at a show at the Ark in Ann Arbor Chris Thile's band played a Wilco cover. First they played Thile's song "Stay Away," which contains the line: "You are the devil. Stay away from me..." Then they announced that they were going to do a cover of a song by the band, Wilco, which was pretty much the total opposite message of that song. Over the cheers, my dear husband was astute enough to call it out: "Hell is Chrome". Sure enough. The violin sounded awesome. So great to see Wilco get all the love they deserve.
