Hey all, long time, no post. I recently became aware of the existence of this, and thought you folks might be interested in it. (If this has already been discussed, my apologies. Skimmed through the last couple of pages and didn't see anything.) Anyway, I'm not sure exactly which packs these cards are in (I assume some kind of 2016 Topps pack), but there are a whole mess of them on eBay for around a buck each, which is where I got mine. It's the first baseball card I've bought in about 25 years. Pretty cool!

According to http://tweedy.kungfustore.com/ the difference is $10.00, and the limited edition is yellow/orange swirl. Sure they'll sound the same. I'm a vinyl freak however, and get excited about limited releases, especially releases that involve a favorite artist or band. I really want to support Tweedy more by buying from their pre-sale site, but Kung Fu ruins that with gauging shipping prices. Anyone can pre-order the LP from Amazon for $25 without having to worry about shipping costs, so there's really no incentive to pre-order it from the Tweedy store unless you want a contest entry or wanted to bundle with a t-shirt or tattoo?
Also
Limited edition is 150 gram
Regular edition is 180 gram

"Merry Xmas" with Sean Lennon is cool and all (I saw him do it with Nels at the Flaming Lips NYE show last year), but I was kinda hoping they'd do Mavis' "Christmas Vacation" song. Jeff would have rocked those hip hip hoorays.

I can feel kind of indifferent about it, but all the "oh, cool" comments make me feel sick and smack of arse kissing.
Since I was the only one in the thread who used the word "cool" up until this point (used it twice, even!), I guess this was directed at me somewhat.
I suppose I come on this forum hoping there are like-minded indviduals who value and respect Wilco and the music. And also hope for interesting discussion or debate. When I see a nonobjective willingness to condone whatever is presented, I find it disappointing and realize I'm probably not in the right place. Nuff said, over and out, roger, ....
Wow. What can I say? Volkswagen drove away with all the shits I used to give about Wilco ever selling out.

It has to be new. It's not on YouTube, and there's nothing about it on Google.
Very cool ad, though.

That's pretty awesome and everything, especially since Wayne delivered it to his house.. But $5,000? Really? Dude must have quite a bit of disposable income...
Yeah, he does okay, and he's single, doesn't have any kids or anything, and loves the Lips. I think it's a bit silly, myself, but it's cool to be able to see that stuff whenever I'm at his place.

Really? You can buy the new 24 hour song for $5000 on a hard drive encased in an actual human skull?
Not anymore. Buddy of mine bought the last one:
Another happy owner of the 24 hour song skull!!!
Wayne personally delivered it to his house and took the pic.

Sounds so awesome, I know what station I'm listening to this weekend!

So Jeff! You're out, you're free, you're rehabilitated. What's next? What's happenin'? What'chu gonna do? You got the money you owe us, muthafucka?

Thanks for the tip!
No problem! Just consider it payback for the lift to the bus station you gave me after the show at the Palladium in Dallas in October '09--that was you, wasn't it?
Awesome album, btw--I think I'm on my 5th or 6th listen in a row.

$4 on Amazon for the MP3 right now.
Just snagged it for $2.49 using promo code INDIE150 - good for $1.50 off Strange Mercy, or twenty other indie MP3 albums

THAT should be quoted on every page.

Weird all the track lengths on Wikipedia are different as well. It would be a shame for Born Alone to be that short though.
Those were the lengths that were listed with the songs on Last.fm. I know this because I'm the one who added them to Wikipedia.

Sorry, but it's an advance copy of the album (we're a monthly music mag), and we're sworn to not leak it.Added up the total run times of all the tracks and it looks like the album is around 55 minutes long.

Hmm,too bad we don't have an emoticon for applause--we could've done handclaps too!

I seriously think that Babs thought the Album of the Year was Arcade Fire by the hot indie band The Suburbs.
She wasn't the only one who was a little confused:
EDIT: Didn't know this had already posted in The Suburbs' thread. My apologies.

Thought I'd pass this along:
Do this first: Get $3 in MP3 Downloads (no gimmicks, just have to enter the code)
And then go buy the Mavis Staples - You Are Not Alone MP3 album for $1.99 at Amazon today only
Enjoy!

I saw two of the Somic Youth/Wilco shows in Cleveland and in Central Park in NYC. I remember thinking that it was sort of a passing of the guard kind of moment.
There was also the 2003 Soundstage episode which featured Somic Youth and Wilco--don't know if they were both filmed on the same night, though.
