  1. Water is one of my fave KM songs...and Parade...and Black Flowers...and, and, and.
  2. I listened to Andy Shauf's album The Party nearly every damn day last summer. I could not be more excited to see this fellow Canadian at SS5!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PN0RPWII7gY
  3. There is a really great NPR Tiny Desk of Big Thief that I've been listening to for weeks now. So happy to see them on the lineup! Kevin Morby is going to be a real treat. Seeing Andy Shauf on the lineup made me actually do a little dance . Also happy to see the limiting of blankets on JF. Don't mind chairs so much, but you can't take up an 6'x8' space and get pissy if someone steps on your blankie. 4. I bought tickets to the Rodriguez show in Concord, NH on June 21st for my bf and myself. Yesterday I get an email from them saying they are refunding everyone's tickets because of scheduling issues! This was a big part of my bf's Christmas present, which sucks, but what can you do. My only hope now is that those scheduling issues are because he will be at SS now instead!
  5. As a Canadian born in the 70s I've been listening to TTH since high school, 93' for me. They are the soundtrack to a big part of my life and I've seen them live in every venue imaginable. Saturday night was bittersweet, but It was amazing to see so many celebrations going on not only in Canada, but around the world. Gord Downie will certainly be missed, but how many people are lucky enough to go out like he is...with Grace Too.
  6. Sky Blue Sky for me...reminds me of summer parades in the small town I grew up in. Complete with the ricocheting drunks!
  7. This is why they are my favorite. Constantly evolving and surprising me!
  8. Having major SS withdrawals. 5 years ago today we headed to our first Solid Sound from Nova Scotia. Wish we were on our way there again today!
  9. Last week The Loft send out a msg on FB to listen to Andy Shauf's new album The Party. I had never heard of him until then, and I'm Canadian, but wow, blew me away! Anyone else have a chance to listen to it yet? Hoping to see him on the lineup for SS2017! He just did an NPR TDC which was also pretty great. I hear big similarities between his song Alexander Alone and Bull Black Nova for what it's worth
  10. Doesn't seem real. This one is gonna take a few days to set in.
  11. Agreed! It's quickly climbing the charts of my favorite Wilco albums.
  12. This is going to make my afternoon root canal so much more bearable! I'll be blasting Pickled Ginger alongside the sound of a dentist drill. Would have loved to have heard some of these at SS15, however if they released a free album that weekend I totally would have just exploded.
  13. I'm buzzin'...this is our 3rd SS and couldn't be more excited! It's such a fantastic mix of old and young and new and old...highlight of my summer
  14. Great! My husband and I are heading down from Nova Scotia, so looking forward to it again!
  15. Just booked what I'm told was the last room at Maple Terrace for the weekend. Stayed there for the past two, lovely spot. Thought I was ahead of the game, but looks like I almost missed out...over a year in advance!
  16. Currently on heavy rotation for me: At the Bottom of Everything - Bright Eyes.
  17. I am such a huge fan, I listen to him every fall and re-evaluate my life. If you haven't heard, Ben Folds did a great tribute song called "Late" to his good buddy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-XtfcjYaT6A
  18. This was my second Solid Sound and had a great time again. Highlights: - Xu Bing's Phoenix / Cig rug (it changed color as you walked around it!) - Dinner with Wilco Saturday night - although we only saw the band as they walked by, and I believe Jeff left after he hi-fived everyone, the dinner itself was great. - Reggie Watts! - The Festival Guide - can anyone confirm if this was a Field Notes Brand? Lowlights: - The chairs/blankets in Joe's field - Friday we took a spot in front of two vacant chairs for quite a while. Once Wilco came on, a guy and his kid came back and pushed us out of
  19. Landed in North Adams around 2 PM today. Just went for a bite at The Hub, SO good! The weird thing is, the only sign of the festival I saw was the orange WILCO sign at Mass MoCA (nearly put the b/f off the road with the scream of excitement). No band member sightings yet, but we may go bowling later so who knows
  20. Anybody know if there is wifi at Mass Moca? I'm travelling from Canada and want to make sure I have enough data on my phone if needed. PS - I will also be at the midnight dinner! Sunday is going to be rough, glad things aren't starting until noon Happy Solid Sound everyone!
  21. So sad to hear the news today, rest in peace Levon. Seeing your band and Wilco sing "I Shall Be Released" brought me to tears.
  22. Hope you all had a great holiday. I was lucky enough to come home on Christmas Eve to find my Solid Sound poster framed and hung above my desk! Did anyone else get any Wilco pressies from Santa?!
