The "That Truncheon Thing" blog posted 192kbps MP3s of last week's World Cafe performance/interview. Four tunes: Side With The Seeds, Muzzle Of Bees, Sky Blue Sky, and What Light. Excellent audio quality. Wilco sounds pretty good too.

Yeah I remember putting the one song on that really said how I felt, more eloquently and emotionally than I could have said it. And I remember waiting, hoping she'd pick up on it. I agree that Photoshop's kind of overkill for just overlaying text. But shoot, I found a high-res scan of Jeff online a while ago, here's a shot at it. When I play that song at work, why do my cow-orkers look at me like I'm demented? I don't even shout along.

I live in Cincy and Wilco comes during the one week I'll be gone in a six-month stretch. [throat-gurgling sound] Well I saw them at Tall Stacks last year, hopefully I'll see them again. If I loan someone a microcassette recorder...? (It's like a cassette recorder, but much crappier.)

Check out the monster AVS Forum thread about recording to your Mac via Firewire. I recorded the Wilco/Bright Eyes ACL in HD with an EyeTV 500. It's an over-the-air recording, and though it plays through nicely, I couldn't make any sworn statements as to bitrate or absolute quality. The one-hour recording is ~6.3GB, as I recall. Wilco's portion clocks around 2.6GB as a fat ol' MPEG-2 file. So, um, what would I do with it? Are the VC torrents dead and gone?
