  1. From the horse's mouth: "Thank you all for your suggestions of releasing the box on vinyl. As for now, the compilation is scheduled as a 3CD+DVD set. The third volume will also be available on its own digitally starting release day. We will certainly take your suggestions regarding vinyl into consideration."
  2. Alex - found some photos from the show: http://blogs.citypages.com/gimmenoise/2009/10/wilco_rocks_the.php http://twincities.decider.com/articles/wilco-at-roy-wilkins,33672/
  3. There's also a pre-sale through 89.3 The Current right now. Ticketmaster password is "thecurrent"
  4. Thanks. Duly noted. If that was the stipulation laid down by the Wilco peeps, then I absolutely agree that the sbd version shouldn't be released. People can argue about sbd versus aud recordings till they're blue in the face. It's not gonna change any minds, and I, for one, am just happy that there's a matrix of the Feb 16th show out there.
  5. Why not just put out the soundboard version too? Then people can download whatever version (matrix or sbd) they prefer.
  6. In Bragg's defense, he's not completely full of shit. There are several songs on the Mermaid Ave Demos that didn't appear on either album (Give Me A Nail, Ain't Gonna Grieve My Lord No More, Greenback Dollar), and the Demos themselves would make a nice addition to a boxed set. But Wilco doing a Mermaid Ave tour with Bragg? Dude, that's so 10 years ago. My favorite thing about Man In The Sand is how Bragg always calls Jeff "Jeffrey."
  7. Thanks for all of the advice. I'm still indecisive about mp3 versus aac, but that's mostly due to laziness (I already ripped my entire Beatles bootleg collection to aac and don't want to have to redo it all again), and will probably go with a high bit rate mp3. The LAME mp3 encoder needs to be run through a separate program, right? I've heard bad things about itunes' mp3 encoder.... Thanks again.
  8. I finally entered the 21st century and acquired a portable hard drive and ipod and am ready to start digitizing my music collection. What's the best format to use when ripping cds in itunes? Due to space constrictions, FLAC and WAV are probably out of the question, and there doesn't seem to be a consensus on AAC versus Mp3. I'm guessing 256kbps AAC should be just fine? Thanks!
  9. For those keeping count (i.e. dorks like me), Misunderstood had 34 "nothings."
  10. I have three extra tickets for the Duluth show on 8/14. They came out to $32 each with fees, and that's all I'm asking for them. PM me or e-mail paddymusic2002@yahoo.com if interested. Thanks. Alright, I'm getting somewhat desperate to get rid of these, so I'm lowering the price to $20 each. PM me if you're interested.
  11. For anyone looking to listen online, you can stream from Minnesota Public Radio's 91.1 KNOW website: http://minnesota.publicradio.org/radio/services/nis/ Hopefully someone will record the audio stream. And I, for one, will be out on the town tonight and keeping my eyes and ears open for a secret show. I'll definitely post on here if it happens.
