    A Cherry Ghost
  1. Yeah he does it during "Impossible Germany." I wondering if it's all just technique.
  2. So, I need help. There's this thing that Nels does wear he picks really fast and creates this giant wash of sound. I think he has reverb and fuzz on, but I'm not sure how he achieves this effect. He does it during the live versions "Handshake Drugs," "Muzzle Of Bees" and "At Least That's What You Said." I'm sure there's more songs that he does that on, but at the moment they escape me. Thanks!
  3. Yeah, they definitely like their tube amps. But I am convinced it doesn't matter what kind of amps they have, they're just that kind of guitarist that sounds like themselves no matter what they play through. I mean, I saw Nels when he had that cool white Marshall stack and then later on Sessions @ AOL with that Fender Deluxe Reverb and I could hardly tell the difference.
  4. Does anyone have the covers of "King Of Carrot Flowers," "I'm Only Sleeping," and "Color Me Impressed?" I would've just downloaded them from that live thing from the demos/downloads thread, but 1. the files have expired and 2. i don't want the rest of the songs.
  5. Yeah seriously, what's to stop them from topping the charts? Wilco deserves that kind of publicity. Well, you're just one dedicated fan, aren't you? Note the massive amounts of sarcasm dripping from that sentence. I'm sick of people who keep bands like Wilco secret when they are the kinds of bands that could be salvaging the music scene if they were given success. I hear so many complaints about pop music, but instead of helping the bands they like to get successful, people keep those bands to themselves, thus the pop scene continues to degenerate. I say when a band like Wilco comes al
  6. I don't understand. Do I have to download all of the songs one by one or is there a way to download them all at once?
  7. There's been talk of this being Wilco's last album. Discuss.
  8. There's a lot of people saying that the new material is fairly mellow. But when they played "Walken" and "Impossible Germany" at the San Antonio show, it was very not mellow. People forget that they sound very big live. Although I was dissappointed at the lack of space in the album, it has a real cool post modern feel to it, just like AGIB.
  9. Well, it seems possible that they will do SNL because SNL has some indie cred with bands like The Shins and Beck playing. But Rolling Stone is a long shot. True, they are Fricke's favorite, but they have a magazine to sell and Wilco doesn't have a lot of mainstream appeal. But who knows? Sky Blue Sky could be their long-awaited mainstream breakthrough which would be cool, yet strange since I thought it was a bit weaker than past material.
