  1. I love the Hold Steady albums but have not enjoyed either time I've seen them. i get used to the timing and delivery of the studio version and then get pissed at the drunken chaos that takes place on stage. Caught the tour with DBT, never heard the Truckers before, but I won't miss them again. They opened, they killed it, I loved'em. After the truckers, I kind of got bored with THS, and I'm a fan whose seen them before. I was just overwhelmed by the truckers, they nailed it for me.
  2. I even made myself listen to Califone enough in the last two months to appreciate their opening set, I think. I hope. first time I saw them, came away thinking they were one of the worst bands I'd ever sat through. I've employed the radios theory of repetition abuse. What I at first just tolerated I now sing along with.
  3. I miss lining up at the box office, a legitimate first come first serve. I was logged in for both presales and the general public, trying again and again, only to get second balcony while some greedy A-hole is scalping the pit seats.
  4. Dolorean is very nice. Get to see a lot of them or Al James solo here in Portland. Maybe it's the winter time, but I've been going back to South San Gabriel for weeks. And Lambchop.
  5. Great! any tips on getting into that band in a hurry without drugs? Should I just check out the lastest or is there a favorite.
  6. I sure hope not. I saw them open for Iron and Wine and it was pretty crappy IMO. I don't love there studio material either, but I mind it, but it did not translate live.
  7. The Grizzly Bear reference has since been removed from the Schnitzer website (portland) Not sure who is opening anymore.
  8. I know nothing about your venue, just an observation, but I think when they start stating the letter of the row twice, like "DD", it's because they ran out of single letters, a through z, and had to start over, putting DD in the 30th row, not the fourth. Hate to piss on your picnic and I hope I'm wrong.
  9. The Schnitzer website shows Grizzly Bear opening. Anyone into them. I've listened to Veckatimest about 10 times since its release. Many of those listens were due to the hype the album generated, and I still haven't fallen in love with it. I don't hate it and I'll enjoy seeing them live, particularly since I wouldn't pay to see them as an opener, but I'm still looking for a reason to love that album and I feel like I'm trying to hard.
  10. I was logged in and waiting for both pre-sales and the general sale and still had to settle for middle balcony. What the f#%@! do you have to do to get a good seat through ticketmaster. I looked again this morning and couldn't get any seats anywhere. Stub hub has people scalping for a minimum of $75. I saw a pair of dress circle tix for $93 each. I was tempted to grab them and sell mine. I'm ready to go back to the stone age where we have to wait in line overnight and get our tix right now. No more 35 attempt via the ticketmaster website to get average seats the minute they go on sale.
  11. I was logged in nice and early for Portland pre-sale this morning and still got nothing. I checked the Schnitzer and the price os actually $8 more than the presale price was, plus whatever ticketbastard screws you for.
  12. That was a bust! Less than tow minutes after they went on sale, all pre-sale was sold out. I keep trying back to see if it was a glitch, but i think its a done deal. I was logged in to my account and refreshing the browser every thirty seconds, so I know I wasn't late. Pretty disapointing set-up.
  13. Got my account ready. The Schnitzer in Portland says it's only 2700 capacity so a sell out could happen during the pre-sale. 4 month wait and I already feel the anticipation.
