Very cool! I'm a big Brinsleys fan.
Me too!
It was a thrill to have him on. He joined us from his living room. Sadly, I had a family obligation that forced me to leave the recording a little bit early. But it was cool to meet Brinsley. The dude has seen a lot.

I started a podcast with a few fellow music geek friends that I met online.
It's called Campfire Songs and it's a lot of fun (at least for us). We get together once a month, each of us brings in 2 songs to share, and we listen to everyone's songs and chat about them and other music and anything else. Mostly music.
Here's the link:
https://www.buzzsprout.com/1460920We have had the occasional guest, including Tim Lee (The Windbreakers), Brinsley Schwarz (Brinsley Schwarz, The Rumour), Mike Hall (journalist and solo musician), and a few others...
If you listen, let me know what you think.
If you don't.... I guess you don't have to!

Picked this up at Dusty Groove a couple of months ago and still haven't given it enough listens.
It's cool, tho.

Thanks!
Not sure how active I'll be, but I might swing by periodically...

During the summer that I was 18, I was working with the Teamsters, mostly at McCormick Place. But occasionally I loaded and unloaded trucks at Ravinia Festival, too. This was the case when the Pat Metheny Group came to town that year. It was hot and muggy and I was exhausted and parched from hauling and loading gear (without any mechanical aid). But, during break time, I got a chance to meet the band. I had a chance to talk to Pat and Lyle. When I shook Lyle's hand, I remember his fingers wrapping around mine, almost cartoonishly long.Incredibly nice and appreciative of the work I was doing on that hot, sweaty night, he grabbed this 18-year-old kid a Corona out of the band's own stash, cracked it open, and handed it to me, thanking me for busting my ass.It was a moment. I remember it fondly and always will. Thanks for the music, Lyle. And thanks for the tastiest, most-refreshing beer I have ever had.Rest in peace.

A collection from a pre-revolution Iranian psychedelic artist. I was gifted a single of his from a record store owner and really dug it. Had to do a little research to find out who it was, as the only writing on the 7" was Farsi. But, thank you internet, I found out. And I also found out that this collection existed. Now I'm giving it a first full spin.

Did your company let you go on the last day of the year?? That is awful!
I am an older person who was job hunting a few years ago, and found the online submission system is not very productive (300 submissions, 3 interviews, 0 offers). I ultimately got a job through personal networking.
Best of luck to you.
Let me go a couple of weeks ago.
Company set me up with a career coach, with whom I just had my first meeting (via phone). That should help.
I've also had 2 interviews in those couple;e of weeks and 2 rejections. But at least I got the interviews. And that was before the job coach. I'm hopeful.

I lost my job of 15.5 years and am back in the job pool for the first time in that long.
I'm a lot older and, while I do have a lot more experience, I find myself a neophyte at this job hunting thing. Feel like I need to re-learn the whole process all over again thanks to the new digital tools that have emerged.
Hadn't kept up on it at all because I had planned on retiring from my former company.
So...
Anybody looking for an experienced Copywriter?

Hot G Dog on Clark St. is owned and run by a couple of guys who used to work at the sadly departed Hot Doug's that you may have heard about.
Sadly, I never went to Hot Doug's but I did go to Hot G last week and it was excellent. Had the crawfish sausage.

Here's a Spotify playlist I made of a bunch of more-recent Brazilian music.

Although, this is still the best concert that I've ever seen:
-
My first concert, having been in 1987, this would be a monstrous task to try to complete. To go back and fill in.
Wish we had something like this back when I started. I just kept all my ticket stubs (for the larger, non-club shows), and that was my "archive."

Love your Gram choice. Probably on my list, too.
