  1. First concert since Wilco at brooklyn steel in October 2019.  I thought the vibe at the Mann was fun, felt great to be at a show. Felt empty for most of SK's set.  SK's music is not bad, but man when Corin starts hollering it is downright awful.  I thought Wilco put on a good show, even though it felt entirely predictable and the Mann sound is not the best. Good to see some live music for a change!

  2. Yeah I got nothing for MSG tickets.  The Apollo show is nuts. Cost me $300 in 2016 for MSG and I think this year will cost $500 to get in the door at MSG. Odd that there is no Boston, Hartford or Philly.  Must be a Fenway show planned and possibly Citizens bank park.

  3. Ha, I was at that Bushnell show! A buddy flipped out on acid during the Birdsong and left the venue...No lie.

It was out there and the window panes were very strong at that time......or so Ive heard. :) Loved the Jerry shows at the Bushnell. Something good always seemed to happen at Hartford shows.

  4. And, an add: Bird Song. Yeah, it's awesome and all. But, the 1st set noodling on it sometimes left me antsy at shows.Seeing Garcia/Khan acoustic do it was different, though.

I loved the Jerry and John shows. Sometimes a hot mess, but there were always moments of brilliance in Jerry's playing.  I caught a Bird Song at the Bushnell in Hartford that went on for 20 mins.

  5. Agree two is probably enough.

Forget what I said about that.  Last night in Philly was another fantastic show.  Glad I could catch them 3 times.  So good!

The crowd was much better than MSG and the band was into it big time!

  6. Yes. Great band and show. Too bad the same can't be said for much of their audience. Don't want to get into a sitting vs. standing debate, but if ever there was a band you should be standing and rocking out for much of the show, Radiohead is that band. A few slow songs, I get it. But if you are sitting during My Iron Lung, etc., get the fuck out.

Funny you say that, totally agree.  People around me both nights not even clapping. Lame.

  7. Hahaha! That is laughable. If you want to say that they wrote and recorded a pop song for their 7th studio album out of 15, fine. If you think that means that they "became a pop band", you're either a hyperbole merchant looking for a reaction or you know nothing of their final 8 albums. If R.E.M. "became a pop band", that would mean that at least a majority of their songs were "pop". Please name the pop songs that followed the release of "Out of time". In my opinion, it is debatable that "Shiny Happy People" is a pop song. Even if it is, it isn't "Smooth".

If they became a "pop band", then their popularity, measured by album sales, would have increased. That was not the case. Maybe "Shiny Happy People" and "I'm Too Sexy" were twins sons of different mothers and R.E.M.'s later career mirrored Right Said Fred's with 7, 8 more albums, but never again attaining the heights of their pop masterpiece ? To say that you were done with R.E.M. after they released "Shiny Happy People" because they became a pop band, says more about you than it does R.E.M.

    you win

  8. I've argued with my friends over this for years -- I think you can build a case for R.E.M. as the greatest American rock band ever.

Could have been.  Instead, they became a pop band. Once I heard shiny happy people I was done.

  10. I’ll be at the wed and Friday show! As much as I love Radiohead I couldn’t justify going to all 4 at those prices and the fact they don’t change the setlist too much show to show but I’m very excited!

    Agree two is probably enough.
