  1. I was the other winner and received my bottles this week as well. Very cool! Thanks Wilco!
  2. I agree. They are my two favorite artists. I have seen Tweedy try out new songs as well as Bird play old songs. I don't think every concert put on by these artists is just like the ones this journalist went to. Jeff and Andrew are both exceptional at what they do, different kinds of music which call for different kinds of concerts.

    Tarrytown

I most likely will have 2 extra tickets for Tarrytown. You would have to meet me at the show to get them. If you're interested, e-mail me and I'll explain. missycantwell@yahoo.com
  4. It's reassuring to know I'm not the only one waiting for Tarrytown tickets. They haven't responded to my phone or e-mail inquiries.
  5. Definitely! He knows I want a new video of him so he stops jamming and runs whenever he sees the camera. I have a couple of videos but I want it to be a good one if I'm gonna put it in cyberspace for eternity. Don't want him to resent me when he grows up.
  6. Thanks so much! This was done about a year ago. He knows enough Wilco songs now to play a full show almost! Dude has been playing along with the Ashes dvd since it came out. His thing this week is pretending a pirate eye patch is a bra(or boobie-thing as he calls it) that someone threw onstage and he picks it up with his guitar neck, then tosses it back. Priceless.

  8. This was the first festival I've been to(besides working at the last Woodstock, out of which I ran, crying). I had a seriously wonderful time. Everything was so well planned and the residents of North Adams were really hospitable! When Mavis played The Weight, that was sheer classic awesomeness. I didn't get to experience Wilco's performance the way I would have liked. Some drunken queef gargler was elbowing and ramming into me while I was holding my three year old. I had been in the same spot since the gate opened. A security person would have been helpful with that. Shortly after, my faith w
  9. I like the one with my son in it playing guitar. Notice the strap, straight from grandma's bathrobe. (The other photos are great as well)
  10. There's a new FAQ section on the festival website. http://solidsoundfestival.com/info/f-a-q
  11. Touching song, and you have a nice voice.
  12. I noticed that too. I'm assuming it's the secret underground cool-kid's place to camp.
  13. I work at an antique book store. Recently, I picked up a little book called The New Soundscape-A Handbook For The Modern Music Teacher by R. Murray Schafer. BMI Canada put it out in 1969. It's about the sonic universe and how we perceive what our ears take in. I'm still reading it, it's pretty cool. Another book that I really enjoy is The Shapes Of Our Singing-A Comprehensive Guide To Verse Forms And Metres From Around The World by Robin Skelton. If you write lyrics or just like words, there are some really great examples of how folks in other lands write.
