  1. I'll admit upfront that I'm a big fan - but Lucius was awesome. They really took advantage of the opportunity they were given. On stage with Wilco on Friday, main set on Saturday then perhaps the largest crowd for a "pop up" show I've seen in three years of Solid Sound Fests. (My Morning Jacket Cover) (Acoustic Pop Up) (Paul McCartney Cover / Acoustic Pop Up)
  2. RE: Pro Cameras Brendan Canty, director of the "Ashes of American Flags" documentary, was leading the crew filming for what is to become a doc on the festival itself.
  3. Purchasing screw-up . . . . if you've got something available - hit me up at shows@billsvillehouseconcerts.com Also, we may be doing a late night show on Friday in North Adams. House concert style, send an email if you're interested.
  4. Just an FYI for those with kids, The Story Pirates are amazing! My kid entered a contest of theirs a few years back and actually won. Amazingly enough, they turned his story into a song that was broadcast on sattelite radio - one of his most favorite accomplishments, listen to it at the link below Angry : The Story Pirates See you in a few weeks!
  5. Lucius is playing in Williamstown (next city over from North Adams / MASSMoCA) on Saturday February 23rd if anyone is interested. http://www.billsvillehouseconcerts.com/lucius
  6. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-q4eCfZPHeQ Just a few nights back in Vancouver BC. I've been rooting for the Nocs to play at Solid Sound.
  7. Here's a Google Map link to where the campgrounds will "probably" be. I say "probably" because all we have is a description of being "south of joe wolfe field". You can see MASSMoCA and the baseball field on this shot - if not Zoom in/out a bit. Yes, there is a huge open field there as well as parking in the area that generally accommodates parking for the baseball games. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=north+adams,+ma&aq=&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=42.631141,88.066406&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=North+Adams,+Berkshire,+Massachusetts
  8. As of a few days ago this place still had some rooms http://bascomlodge.net/ whoo, if i didn't live here i'd be booking there
  9. Maybe I'm relaxed because I live here I often drive two or three hours for shows that are worthwhile so hey, once in awhile, everyone else can come here right? If you're not worried about driving a bit you could stay in the amazing town of Northampton, MA. It's an hour away but if last year was any indication it's very easy to get in/out of town. Northampton has everything you'd ever want in a cool multi-college town. Just another thought . . .
  10. There was really something "special" in the air last year in that everyone who wanted to be there had to make at least a bit of an "effort". You didn't get a bunch of casual, big city type fans. Everyone who was there really wanted to be there. I think Wilco felt that - planned for it - and valued it. The facility is spectacular, the band and fans loved it. Why change?
  11. I would hit the Williamstown hotels then pretty quickly. The ones on Route 2 close to Williamstown (Willows, Orchard, Maple Terrace, Williams Inn) are within walking distance of the shuttle stop they ran last year. Very convenient.
  12. Wednesday December 15, 2010 North Adams Transcript NORTH ADAMS -- Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art officials confirmed Tuesday what many in the local arts community already have been talking about -- Wilco and its Solid Sound Festival will return to the city during the museum’s upcoming summer season. "Wilco is coming back," Katherine Myers, museum spokeswoman, confirmed Tuesday. She declined to confirm when the popular alt-country band would return to the city, saying that several dates -- including a rumored June date -- have been discussed. However, the band is expected to
  13. Guess my taste in beer is about average
  14. Magic Hat #9 isn't a "novelty" beer. It's been a staple for years. To each his own in the beer world but personally I love me some #9, #9, #9, #9 .
  15. Funny, that's my video - please don't put on headphones and hear me singing along in my off pitch monotone!
  16. Where was the news about the promoter taking a loss? And who would the promoter be in this case? Wilco? MoCA?
  17. The word is this (in the style of politicians) - in a conversation with Jeff the museum director, Joe Thompson, said Jeff [Tweedy] and I talked this morning, and we had a hard time coming up with any reasons not to do it. http://www.iberkshires.com/blog/?bid=454
  18. Thought this deserved its own thread http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9RPM7i9pUg
  19. http://www.wamc.org/ - live stream interview with Tweedy on in about 20 mins Some news - entire campus will be blanketed by free WiFi - should be able to handle > 5000 simultaneous users
  20. Wilco Stage Courtyard D (I think . . . )
  21. Sky Gray Sky - Wilco going up against the iconic letters of MASSMoCA
  22. That is NOT the main stage courtyard. That's a smaller place that's been there awhile. I didn't get a shot of the main stage courtyard - maybe this weekend?
  23. A bunch of pix i took at MASSMoCA today http://yfrog.com/6efsaj http://yfrog.com/eqeswj http://yfrog.com/jvy32tj http://yfrog.com/85kpyj http://yfrog.com/n9tqbj http://yfrog.com/5cadjsj
