1. If you didn't catch the Bill Orcutt tiny desk, do yourself a favour. It's glorious. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tu_PRf1tyjI&list=RDTu_PRf1tyjI&start_radio=1
2. Hi folks, back again after a break of many years. I'm hoping more of the "art rock" thing will come through in the other songs. The cover looks cool.
3. This video isn't gross (depending on your definition of gross). It's part documentary, part music video, and deals with he topic of the neighbourhood where i live in Krakow, it's history and how that relates to today's world. https://youtu.be/EoV0dHEuApQ
4. ok, so i can't figure out how to post youtube videos. anyway, here's a link: https://youtu.be/uqqCDgfOsl4
5. Here's first of two videos for a record we just released. Don't watch if you've just eaten: https://youtu.be/uqqCDgfOsl4 Link to the music is here, available on a pay-what-you-want basis: https://resonatingwoodrecordings.bandcamp.com/album/sawak
6. Well, they did make it easier for the mentally ill to obtain weapons, right?
7. Yeah, I remember him bowing out of the conversation here, but was wondering if he had returned. I disagreed with him on virtually every topic that came up, but enjoyed the debate. And it's important, I think, to keep the lines of debate open with those of differing opinions.
8. i don't come around much these day, and I'm too lazy to scroll through 17 pages, so i'll just ask: Has Hixter chimed in recently?
9. wholeheartedly agree with this. it's true that electrics are easier on the fingers that steel string acoustic. you could also consider a nylon string acoustic (as i did with my son) but that might lack the "cool" factor. it all depends on the kid, his interests and taste in music. good luck!
10. Been a while since I posted, and can't remember/figure out how to post youtube, but the only thing I can bring myself to listen today is this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5RuCLQHmFN4
11. Carter Family (among others) - John Hardy Bright Eyes - Train under water
12. Morocco with my son. drove to France by way of Czech and Germany to near Chartres for a family meet-up. A couple trips to Sweden, but that's for work and doesn't really count.
13. The Prediction Professor says Trump will be impeached. Presuming he's found guilty and thrown out with the trash where he belongs, that would leave Pence as leader of the land. If this happens within the space of 2 years, he'd have a Repugnant House and Senate. It's reasonable to guess that they would prefer Pence, and could "accomplish" more. http://theweek.com/speedreads/662318/professor-predicted-trump-win-election-now-predicts-how-trumps-presidency-end Question to lefties: Which scenario is scarier? Question to righties: Which scenario would you prefer?
14. I have lived in Poland for a long time. I may be picking up a citizenship application on my way home from work today. One thing holding me back is that the current government here is similarly rancid. Unfortunately it's happening in lots of places.
15. Thanks, he really can. He's done some bigger market things, but this was printed in the local paper. When I say local, I'm talking about the congressional district where the last time they didn't vote Republican for president the Republican they voted against was named Abraham Lincoln. So I wonder what they'll do this time around, and how many friends my dad will have left in the neighbourhood when all this is over.
16. Does that make him less erudite? In other news, my dear old dad penned this.
17. I voted absentee last week. I'm anxious for this to be in the past.
18. I'm surprised the Onion hasn't yet run a story about Bill Cosby nominating Trump. Also, didn't the orange monkey once say something along the lines of "i'll be so presidential you won't believe it, you'll be falling asleep" or some such B.S.? Strange definition of presidential. Last point for today: it's pretty sad that despite the fact that we as human beings know about confirmation bias, we don't do anything to avoid falling into the trap, but rather rush headlong into it with passion and fury. This is true of both sides, but more true of the Repugnacins. (Oops, did I just fall into
19. I meant it half-jokingly, but if it did happen it wouldn't surprise me. And imagine the symmetry of the catalogue: from "I must be high" to "Just say goodbye" it could be from the same song...
20. What's the line, "joyfully miserable" or something like that? And Something about Jeff's public image and how that impacts his sense of identity? Given that some of the lyrics we've already heard makes it sound like he's a bit tired of being under the rock-star microscope, I'd guess that "Just Say Goodbye" is his farewell song to his fans, that the tour will be a farewell tour and Wilco will slip into retirement.
21. hey, where the hell is that record they've got all finished and ready to release upon the world?
