Hey Any Canucks near Toronto interested in carpooling, sharing accommodation, etc. for the August Mass MoCa weekend?

Seeing Wilco live is always full of great candy for the ears, like the transition from "Poor Places" into "Reservations" that I got to hear/see recently. But what about random connections from your collection? I was listening to my Wilco catalogue on iTunes and for some reason I had highlited "names" so the songs played in alphabetical order. There were some interesting mixes/transitions. Has anyone else noticed this? If so what's your favourite? My alphabetically ordered transition from "Radio Cure into "Red-eyed and Blue" was pretty sweet. Your two tunes don't necessarily have to be from Itu

The suit is awesome...The show opened with Via Chicago, what a treat. I've seen a bunch of shows recently, but have yet to see them open with Via Chicago. I'd really like to as I think it's a great way to start the show. They don't do it often, hopefully one day I'll get to see them open with it. Luckily I got to see Broken Arrow in Hamilton, on of the highlights of the show.

The sound was extraordinary! I totally agree with When the Roses Bloom Again, and the transition from, (& performances of), Poor Places into Reservations as being among the highlights. The crowd was ok, but of the 4 shows I've seen in the last few months, "The Hammer", was the quietest. I wish I could attend the Montreal show, my hometown, as they're a rowdy, appreciative bunch!

That was an excellent performance and it was great to see everyone looking like they had lots of good food over the break from touring. I bet they were happy to be in sunny California 'cause the upcoming tour will be frosty. In London, Ontario, it's 7 degrees Fahrenheit right now, -3 degrees Fahrenheit in Madison, Wisconsin (at least that show's already sold out so they'll get a very warm reception).

It's that time of year and all the lists are coming out. This piece in the Toronto star "Are These the Decade's Best Albums?" has links to a variety of the lists. The article notes that: "U.K. music and movie magazine Uncut goes the trad rock route: The White Stripes (White Blood Cells), Bob Dylan (Love and Theft) and Wilco (A Ghost is Born)." A lot of the lists include Wilco, including "Pitchfork's: Kid A, another Wilco album (Yankee Hotel Foxtrot) and OutKast's seminal Stankonia."

Love that set list. I've always wanted to see a show open with Via Chicago! And thanks to the other post(er) with the excellent photos.

Thanks for the great ideas, the They Might Be Giants CD is now on my list of cds to buy. I'll definately watch "Hard Day's Night" with the little grabber. His ears must be burning because this morning I overheard him doing a Wilco / Wiggles mash up of Wilco's "Monday" and the Wiggles "Big Red Car." He was sining "Choo Choo Charlie had a big red car..." An excellent Canadian artisit for young kids is Raffi. "Singable Songs for the Very Young" has great song selections, arrangements and musicianship....for infants and toddlers. I'm a big Wilco fan and often listen to their CD's when I'm driving around with my 3 year old son. You know, Wilco is playing on the drive to daycare, swimming lessons, etc. Before his third birthday my son knew all the words to "Jesus Etc." When my wife and I got tickets to the Lewiston, N.Y. Wilco show this past July, I secretly considered bringing my son to the show. He'd watched all the Wilco "AOL Sessions" clips as well as "Ashes of American Flags," so I figured he'd enjoy the show.
