  1. The thing that frustrates me most about shipping from Kung Fu is it would take me less time to drive to their headquarters to pick it up than it would be for me to drive home from work. It's literally right around the corner. If I could just go pick it up and save the $$$ that would be nice. The people in the office there are great in the few times I interacted with them. It's the shipping prices that are bananas.

  2. I'm hoping for more dates after Asheville. The drive is only 4 1/2 hours but if they announce Raleigh / Durham after I got tickets to Asheville my wife would kill me. That and I'm going to Asheville a month later to see Slowdive. Not sure she'd be on board with all that...

  3. My kids are 4 and almost 8 now, so in 4 years I think they could handle it. We actually went over a covered bridge in Bennington each day, to and from, Solid Sound. It was nice! Yep, what you saw was the Bennington Battle Monument. It was really neat to see up close. It's in a neighborhood! Crazy. Never seen anything like that. We drove right past it. It was a really nice little town. We rented a cottage from Air B&B and it worked out great. Just about a 30 minute drive to and from each day. I'll take it. I do that getting to work each day anyway. The Kevin Morby pop up was GREAT! At first he didn't project his voice loud enough but he adjusted quickly and did great. He had no mic. He played Beautiful Strangers, Crybaby, another song I can't remember the name of...dang it, but finished it off with What I Got from Sublime. I didn't see that one coming!

  4. I've seen Wilco many times in the past and have also been to many day long festival shows. Only one multi-day festival show previously. This was easily one of the best concert experiences of my life. The venue was unlike anything I had ever been to. I had no idea what to expect but it was absolutely perfect for the event. Parking was a non-issue, food was great, the people were awesome, both staff and people attending. The pop up events were great! I was in the right place at the right time to see Kevin Morby and the one for Nick Offerman. I absolutely loved Joe's Field. I knew I was going to have a blast. I was pleasantly surprised when my wife had as good of a time as she did. She's not really a 3 day festival type of person but I think the venue and atmosphere won her over.  We're already looking forward to bringing our kids in 4 years, assuming it's still happening. 2 years is too soon for them but 4 should be OK, assuming we can get a room in North Adams. This time we staying in Bennington, VT, which was great! We were able to go to the Bennington Battle Monument and Robert Frost's grave since we passed both each day to Mass Moca. Such a great time.

  5. I know there's no way to regulate this but one thing that frustrates me is the fact that some people are voting that are not going to the show. I wish we could put in some sort of procedure that verifies you'll be at the show and then you may vote 1 time per day.

  6. It looks like a close race between YHF and BT. While I agree with and understand the voters for YHF I have to make a clear case for BT. You'll hear MANY of the songs from YHF if you attend a few Wilco shows. At least 2-3 any given night plus a deeper cut from time to time. Hell, I've seen them about 10 times and have still never seen Kamera...But a chance to hear all of Being There. In full? That is a no brainer to me. I've never seen Far, Far Away, What's The World Got In Store, Say You Miss Me, Sunken Treasure, I'm assuming they'd play the alternate Outta Sight Outta Mind as well, Someone Else's Song, The Lonely 1...Shit! I haven't seen 1/2 of that release!

    So...

For the love of all that is good and pure...Please consider voting for BT.

    Vote early! Vote often!

  7. How were The Shins?

It was my first time seeing them and they were great! Great setlist that covered just about everything.

The Ritz in Raleigh gets a bad rap. They've renovated it in the past several years and it's pretty good now. Sound is not fantastic but other places are worse.
