  1. Guilty of failure to identify-I'm Barbara.
  2. I just got lucky on that one as I'd booked my airfare months ago. I'm a big Dando fan so this should be well worth the exhaustion of driving to Williamstown after the show.
  3. Heading to Boston from Texas Thursday, where we'll hang around long enough to see Evan Dando and Jason Loewenstein at Once in Somerville before heading west. It will be the third Solid Sound for my sister and I and needless to say we can wait.
  4. I may be missing this info somewhere but...how early are we allowed admission to the museum on Friday? I know the festival check in isn't until 5pm but I notice they'll have the Kidspace activities open at 11am (according to the FAQ) so I was wondering if there is access to the galleries all day as well. Getting in early for the first time this year and looking forward to the new installations as well as the music!
  5. Found out Evan Dando is playing in Boston on Thursday, 6/22, the day I fly in. Tickets are secured so a busy and fun weekend is set!
  6. I've always flown in day-of and never had a problem getting settled in to my room and out to the festival. Of course it depends on what city you're flying into but they have a pretty late start time on Friday.
  7. March sounds right to me. By the way, Southwest Airlines just extended their schedule to include the SS17 dates. Just booked my airfare!
  8. Does anyone remember when they announced the lineup in 2015? I remember the alphabetical thing but don't recall when it was.
  9. Add Courtney Barnett and the Mekons to that list and you'd have my dream lineup.
  10. Richard Buckner would be wonderful, as would Okkervil River or Msrk Eitzel.
  11. Mekons would be fantastic! They've been especially prolific lately and supposedly have two records in the pipeline for next 2017. Love most of the suggestions so far, especially Courtney B and the Mountain Goats. Would love to see some Mass representation from the Lemonheads (30th anniversary next year) or Miacle Legion.
  12. A late poster as well and also can't really find much to complain about (except the wifi in my hotel...but that's not Wilco's fault!) The crowds are fine, the chairs and blankets annoy me but I've been to ACL so I know it can be much worse. It's a joy to come there out of the brutal Texas heat so even the drizzle and chill didn't really bother me. Gained some new bands to follow in Speedy Ortiz, Parquet Courts, Felice Bros and Luluc and of course loved Wilco and Tweedy. Can't think of too much I'd change and of course already making tentative plans for 2017.
  13. I agree 100% that any version or assemblage of Mekons members would be a great addition. They've been one of my favorites since seeing them in the late eighties and I've never seen them do a bad show. They have several very accomplished visual artists in their ranks as well - bet they could put together a great short term exhibit in some small area of MassMoCA.
  14. I second the wish for the Lemonheads as locals - the current lineup is probably the best it's been in years - and would also add the newly reformed Juliana Hatfield Three to the list. One thing I thoroughly enjoyed at the last SS was the "The Love Song of R. Buckminster Fuller" film/performance with Yo La Tengo. I hope they continue to program a film entry into the lineup this year ("Revenge of the Mekons" documentary would make a great performance/film combo.)
