  1. I'm about 99.99% Mr. Tweedy was serious about the distractions caused by the cell phones and videotaping. Other artists such as Ryan Adams have hammered down on it further than a simple rant and are having security scold people holding their phones in the air. I agree with you I'd much rather be next to the guy holding a phone than the drunk guy trying to tell me about his day during the middle of 'Handshake Drugs'. I think what put Mr. Tweedy off the most was the young girl and her dad that worked their way down to the front row with a very big camera/video recorder - and then they proce
  2. Your thoughts on why Wilco didn't sell out in Rochester are very valid. When I went to the Davenport show the next next and that wasn't sold out either I figured it had to be the constant touring, or ticket prices or a loss in interest. So, I don't think people lack an interest and ticket prices are very fair for the quality of the show thus I was wondering if people just budget for one show per year... If my calculations are wrong this was Wilco's 4th show in 8 months between Minneapolis, Duluth and Rochester. Perhaps there are more but I've been to 3 of those 4. Regardless, the crowd
  3. I made a similar post on the July 3rd thread for Davenport. I was the only photographer for the Rochester show. Here's a link to the review and 80+ photos from the Mayo Civic Center: http://wp.me/p2kytK-1AF As of today, July 4th - both reviews are featured on the home page and you can just click here to see both: http://www.TheWayThatHeSings.com Enjoy.
  4. I was one of the two photographers at the Davenport show last night. Here's a link to 65+ of my photos from the Adler Theater: http://wp.me/p2kytK-1Cx The article also has links to my 85+ photos from the night before in Rochester on July 2. As of today, July 4th - both reviews are featured on the home page and you can just click here to see both: http://www.TheWayThatHeSings.com Enjoy.
  5. About the curfew - yes, it was set at 11pm. I spoke to security prior to the show and they told me they were done at 11pm and not a minute later. House rules for the night. Great recap on Jeff's humor. Very good comments, as usual last night. I thought his comments about the videotaping were spot on - and quite frankly he played it off very nicely even when he could have been a little more edgy about it. Great stuff.
  6. I photographed last night's show in Davenport (and the Rochester show the night before), and I'll post a link later today for anyone who want to view the photos, etc..... Finishing up on the Rochester photos now.
  7. My local record store - 90 minute drive away - got one copy of the Whole Love RSD box set. I was #25 in line to get into the store but I was able to grab it for $70. I see that they are going for a little over $100 on ebay now. Hate to see scalpers benefit so much on RSD. Are there any differences in this RSD box set from the one originally released last year? I own that on vinyl and CD but didn't buy the original box (dumb of me since I have bought nearly every piece separately since then).
  8. I was able to grab 2 tickets during the presale yesterday for the July 2nd show in Rochester. I don't know if they ever release any statistics on how fast the pre-sale tickets get sold but I'm pretty sure everything was sold out within 4 minutes or less. I felt lucky to get the two that I had. Amazing.
  9. Click on the link or cover below: http://twths.org/top...ms-of-all-time/ From the website The Way That He Sings Also, from that same website, here is the review and photos of the Wilco show in Des Moines: http://twths.org/wilco-nick-lowe/ Here's one of the photos:
  10. I agree with you about Bon Iver....they (or 'he' is more accurate) just aren't in the league with Wilco, The Black Keys, etc. While I can listen to, and appreciate the greatness in most of Bon Iver's work, I clearly don't find it as ear-pleasing as Mr. Tweedy and the others at the top of their game right now.
  11. Three excellent Wilco additions on this site: http://www.TheWayThatHeSings.com 1.
