    A Cherry Ghost
  1. Great show. Probably seen them a dozen times, and that's right up there. The horns add a lot. Band/Jeff very comfortable. Crowd well-behaved, respectful etc.
  2. also odd: woody guthrie site lists billy bragg, steve earle, etc as artists, for show, but no wilco. in the meantime, can't get any info at all about tickets, etc. -- webster hall/bowery presents doesn't list show on its site. http://www.woodyguthrie.org/news.htm
  3. Or you can just spend less time on this board because 1) There's a limited number of things you can discuss about a band, even when it's your favorite band in the whole wide world and 2) New people are always going to discover your favorite band in the whole wide world, and all of the things you've already discussed will be new to them. It's how the world works.
  4. http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/articl...t_id=1003589114 if no one's put this up yet. apologies if i'm duplicating earlier post.
  5. Seriously? Sigh. So the interesting question will be how much staying power the album has considering going forward. Thought it was interesting to see it displayed prominently in several Starbucks I was in over the last week. If it stays there that's a good sign for the boys, saleswise.

    BROOKLYN!

doubt this will work, but what the heck: i've got two hammerstein tix that i'd like to swap for warsaw. willing to throw in a sixpack or two if that helps sway anyone. pm me if you're interested.
  7. Nicely put. Something to be said for waiting, uh, a day before reviewing the record.
  8. really, really pleased. during the last year i've made a point of trying not to expose myself too much to the new stuff, just so i could have an experience like the one i've had in the past few hours - listening over and over again to songs i haven't heard before, but am really glad i get to hear now. love all the echoes and allusions i'm picking up on the first few listens - dylan, band, neil young, etc. looking forward to picking up on more during the next few weeks.
