  1. Seems like Jeff might be up for a UT reunion: playing "Give Back the Key to My Heart" in multiple Wilco shows recently when he only sang harmony on the recording (Farrar and Doug Sahm sang the verses), and now this. As great as Wilco and Son Volt are, the magic those 3 guys made when they were just babies deserves a reprise. I'll be watching that episode of P&R, but something tells me a sitcom is not Jay's style. And I definitely don't see him making a cameo in what is a Jeff gig--Farrar might be willing to do UT as equals, but nothing as 2nd banana to Jeff, regardless of their relative
  2. Great review with photos of the Stubbs show here: http://www.readthehorn.com/lifestyle/music/84779/wilco_at_stubbs_bbq_reviewphotos What a special show--one for the ages! Reviewer notes that the highlight (for him) was "Give Back the Key to My Heart". It's interesting that Jeff has chosen to put this in the setlist, since Jay and the song's author, Doug Sahm, sang the verses on the UT cover. It's a great song, and I love Wilco's version. It's just a little surprising (and maybe a first) to hear Jeff sing a lead part that Jay sang on the UT recording.
  3. Very sad, and far too young. Interesting that Jeff and Jay Farrar are each the youngest of 4 brothers. Given Greg's role in the Uncle Tupelo days (van mechanic, bouncer etc.) I wonder if Jay and Mike were at the funeral. Possibly the 1st time they were all in the same room in 20 years.
