  1. The Decemberists, Waxahatchee, Death Cab For Cutie.

Yeah no complaints from me, they were great! Paz even sang Gigantic which I wasn't expecting.

i'm resting up for pearl jam next friday & sub pop's spf 30 next saturday. very excited to see beach house @ spf 30!

  2. Looking forward to night 2 @ Safeco Field. Only bummer is have to miss a free Afghan Whigs show as part of the Sub Pop 30th anniversary celebration. The day after is a huge free show at the beach with a bunch of cool bands (Beach House: yes!). Wouldn't be surprised if there is some sort of Pearl Jam affiliated appearance there. The 25th anniversary, Soundgarden played unannounced.

  3. after much trouble i got first balcony tix for seattle. evidently bob seger tix went on sale at the same time & ticketbastard kept crashing. interesting, the venue is all seated but the show was GA by tier (floor, 1st balcony, 2nd balcony). luckily, they had a caveat about ADA seating. supposed to talk to the venue staff on arrival & they will seat me in a roped off section. should be ok. bad things going on with me & mobility & sadly i can't go to shows without ADA seating.

  4. Anyone listen to Tell Me How You Really Feel? I gave my vinyl a first listen this afternoon and, whoa, this album is killer! Courtney taking it to the next (or second or third) level with the songwriting, with her unique voice and perspective. Super impressed!

i've got to listen to it more. first listen, didn't like as much as (non vile) record. will give a chance though.

  5. Baseless speculation: I feel like if Poncho just wasn't available or unable to play earlier this month Neil's camp would have said so. The fact that they're not really talking about it leads me to believe it's going to be Nils going forward for the Horse.

Nils is an awesome player. On the vid, Neil seemed to be enjoying the whole thing. Got to hang out with Nils once. Very nice & funny guy. His solo shows are always good, too.

  6. Ahh well their shows are super long! Good on him! I saw them play three shows in a row at msg last summer? I stood, than sat then stood like most of the audience over the 10+ hours of the 3 shows!!

it was 2016. wish i could've seen the 3 night stand there or hollywood bowl. i went to vegas (small venue) & portland. they were my big bucket list band. they did not disappoint! they were 2 very different shows & each amazing in its own way. the vegas one is up on youtube.

  7. I saw the 2nd show of the Joshua Tree tour a year ago & Bono's voice was great. I always have reservations when I go see them & end up being blown away by how good they are live. Especially the 360 show. It was just stunning & probably the best stadium show I've seen (Joshua Tree was extremely close). It probably helps that in Seattle we have a stadium that actually sounds good. It was designed with sound in mind which is kind of a rarity for that sort of venue. I'd luv to see an area show but they aren't playing anywhere close. I have the blu-ray from Paris & its pretty good.

  8. “Not a train wreck” doesn’t make it a good idea. I love Neil and I love Lindsey, but would greatly prefer to see Neil playing and singing his own songs!

I find it difficult to imagine Neil Finn and Stevie Nicks getting along.

i've met Neil a few times over the years. he's an extremely nice guy. great sense of humour. think he could get along with anyone.

  9. So.....Neil Finn is replacing Lindsey Buckingham in Fleetwood Mac?! I don't think anyone saw this one coming. I was looking forward to some possible Neil Finn shows later this year. I'm curious to see how this plays out on their upcoming tour.

with Mike Campbell too! i don't think this will be a train wreck.

  10. Could have been.  Instead, they became a pop band. Once I heard shiny happy people I was done.

i like shiny happy people. it was a good fit on the record. REM at their worst was still better than most bands best. to earlier post: i saw wilco open for REM too. could've been the venue (ancient small stadium) but didn't seem like they were at their best. think there was a lot of tension simmering that blew up not too long after. conversely, REM were fantastic.
