I'm not too hip on how the recording process translates to the release, but I seem to recall reading that summerteeth is a digital recording and a vinyl pressing isn't going to sound any better, and that for anything other than collectors value (which we all know is $$$$) doesn't do much good. Can anyone verify if this is true?

I haven't been on the board for a while so this may have already been discussed but I didn't see it. Anyway, BM is touring.

Just wanted to chime in on this. saw the show in lawrence last night and it really was amazing. Every bit as good as the wilco crossroads show a few weeks back, although honestly I wouldn't compare the two, other than to convey how tight they are. Everyone was on and the sound was great. Neko and Dan were both there. By far the best TNP show I've ever seen, and each show I have ever seen has had both Neko and Dan, just lucky I guess. Don't really remember the setlist but they played everything I had hoped to hear. Myriad Harbour was unexpectedly the best song of the night IMO. During the testament to youth in verse, Dan sang holding an apple in one hand and of course some imported beer in the other, and held them both up by his face during his vocals. Then when it went into the instrumental solo parts, he would hold the apple right up against the mic as if it were his instrument. that was somewhat amusing. I believe they opened with all the things that go to make heaven and earth, and closed with bleeding heart show.
Revision: I see a few posts back someone mentions Dan holding up an orange, I'm now guessing that what I'm thinking was an apple was an orange, or even more likely perhaps some type of shaker that looks like a piece of fruit. The odd part being though, that I'm fairly certain he did not do any shaking with it, but just holding it up against the mic.

Jeff plays guitar on:
"therefore i am", "memory lame", and "get a room"
and he also plays harmonica on, "all downhill from here"
Glenn plays drums and some percussion on all tracks.
the band Jim put together for this album is quite awesome, and I'd really like to see them do something again.
Thanks so much for the info. I haven't listened to Eureka in a while, but I know I remember thinking before that I heard Glenn on that recording as well. Do you happen to have the linear notes on it, and if so is Jeff on that album as well? What about the rest of the band compared to Insignificance? The guitar in All Downhill From Here reminds me of Hey Chicken. I'll have to listen for the harmonica, I don't remember that either.

Can anyone tell me what role Jeff has on this song in particular, or even insignificance as a whole? It sounds as though Glenn is on the entire album.

my many coloured days
Wilco -- 5/14/08, Lawrence, KS
in After The Show

Had an awesome time last night. The band was on top of it's game and the venue was spectacular. The weather was perfect, sound was good, people were great. Took my 12 yo daughter for her first Wilco show, and she loved it. Highlights for me were Hoodoo Voodoo and Say you miss me. Of course another one of many great days in Lawrence.
