Bridget! Long time...great to see you back here, if only for a second.

And yeah, I can't believe how many of us were at those R.E.M. shows at Red Rocks. What a time. Back when Red Rocks was still the old Red Rocks (people lining up all day), right?

Paul! 🥰 I have a very specific memory of you from that time... It was a Sunday and you wanted to get some beer. I informed you that in CO, liquor stores were closed on Sunday and the grocery store only sold 3.2%. And you had no idea what 3.2% beer was, lucky you. 🤣🤣🤣

I don't think CO has blue laws anymore, but I live in OR now. 😄

  2. Wow, 20 years!?! Thank you for letting me know Donna, what a great feeling to see all of your screen names and in some cases avatars from the way way back. I’m almost positive I was here in 2001, I have memories of being here on 9/11. But you can’t trust an old lady’s memory… 🤣

I have so many fond memories of this forum, of meeting my fellow Wilco fans, creating the adopt a newbie program for show trading… remember CDs? Ha! The Wilco/REM show at Red Rocks in… September ‘03(?) was a particular highlight of my concert-going life.

VC was where I learned of 95% of the music I listened to in the aughts… so many here with such good taste in music. You all made me a music snob 😁.

Thank you VC for the memories and good times! 🥳

  3. I can understand why people were somewhat disappointed with the ending, but what could they have done to make ALL the fans happy? Nothing. Personally, I LOVED the final episode and the way that it wrapped up. I'm still feeling an empty LOST hole, though... :ohwell

  4. Anyone thought that Jin or Sun's head would explode when they crossed the pylons?

:yes I was totally waiting for it.

No...but they definitely met off island. (Ben shot Desmond and Desmond beat the shit out of his)

Ah yes. My memory is crap.

  5. I don't consider myself to be too naive, but this show always manages to catch me off-guard... :huh

Is Desmond dead? (I don't think so)

    Is Sayid dead? (or un-un-dead?)

Did Jack make yet another poor decision?

Is Claire going to off Kate?

Since Des knows Ilana in the ALT, does that mean Widmore IS on team Jacob? It seems to be playing out that way...

    WHO IS DAVID'S MOTHER?!?!?

What role are Ben, Richard and Miles going to play in all this?

And a weird question... did Ben and Desmond ever meet on the island? I can't remember, but I was rewatching that scene where Des runs Locke down in his car, and it occurred to me, I don't think they ever did. Not sure it means anything, just something I was thinking about.

  6. Sorry, I might be dense. Are you saying it's obvious who the boy is or commenting on continuity?

Not kidding though, the notion of a god-like kid is scary to me. His second scene may have been my most horrified, Lost moment.

Not to speak for other posters, but I think the point is that light/dark = Jacob/MIB. Though I thought it was a different kid, they say on the LP forums that it was the same actor playing both scary jungle ghost boys...

  7. I think a better question that you should be asking is what are the similarities between Libby & Charlie (from last week's episode)?

They're both dead in the Original Timeline. It's possible that because of this their consciousness from that timeline has seeped into their Flash Sideways' minds.

Excellent point. I'd almost forgotten about Charlie remembering falling in love with Claire.

I love that Hurley had a meeting with The Human Fund. I can only assume that's an homage to Seinfeld.

    I laughed. :lol

  8. Holy. Fuck. Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow.

I just saw the epi and haven't had time to fully digest it yet, but...

Ilana blowing up was a complete shock. Desmond being thrown down the well and Desmond running Locke over... it's like I could sense both moments coming but was still surprised when they happened. Is Des dead? I believe he does have knowledge of both timelines in both timelines. But if that fall down the damn well killed him, I am going to be one pissed off woman.

Is Libby "special" in the same sense that Desmond is? The universes are definitely merging.

I've been in the "Hurley is the key" camp for quite some time, could prove to be right. What made him lie about seeing Jacob? Why did he lead Frank, Sun & Jack to the MIB? Where are Ben & Miles going to end up in all this mess?

    :dancing :stunned :dancing :stunned

  9. I believe the cave is MIB's, not Jacob's. There has been speculation that David's mother is Penny - which I don't believe, especially after last week's epi, or the Gabrielle woman who's father Jack tried to save. I don't believe that either... David is how old in the ALT, about 12 or 13? So he was born in the early-mid 90's, probably. I think his mother IS Sarah, we don't really know for sure when Jack was married, but it's definitely possible. Remember when she thought she was pregnant and took a home PT just to find out she wasn't? Maybe in the ALT she was.

I am DYING to know who Penny's mother is. I suppose it could turn out that it's nobody we know/inconsequential... but we know she exists in the ALT, so did Widmore and Eloise not meet each other until later in life in the ALT? Or did they just not marry until later? Now that I'm thinking about it, it's a mystery in both timelines, since Penny is obviously older than Daniel, but Charles and Eloise met on the island.

    Good questions!

    New show:

    I'd watch it. :dancing

  10. Does anyone else also think that Sayid will not stand by MIB's side due to revelation of Happily Ever After? By that, I imply that if Desmond has control or understands the transfer of thoughts/memories/intents, then perhaps Desmond will inspire Sayid with some bright ass hope.

I've been thinking about that too. At first it made me real nervous just how easily Desmond went off with Sayid, but now ITA with your analysis. It was interesting that Sayid let Zoe go...

  11. He has either had a change of heart or his actions toward Desmond in the past were either trying to protect Penny or put Desmond on a path toward the Island and his destiny.

It's been my assumption since we found out that Desmond is "special" that Widmore's treatment of him wasn't dislike, but a plan to get him to the island.

  12. To quote Eric Cartman... "The fuck, dude!"

That was AWESOME!!! I :wub Desmond. But I have a very bad feeling about him going off with Sayid. Also, it appears that any scene where Des & Penny are reunited (or introduced, apparently), whether by phone or in person, brings tears to my eyes. Desmond-centric episodes have consistently been my favorites.

  13. In the original timeline, was Sun's father planning on having Jin killed also? I can't remember, why were they in Sydney originally? Didn't he have 2 watches?

I can't remember for certain, but I think you are correct about the two watches. Interesting thought about wanting him killed in the original timeline as well. Since Keamy's working for Paik in the sideflash, and was working for Widmore in the original, I wonder if Paik and Widmore are associates somehow? I'm curious to see if Paik ends up playing a role in this whole thing.

So, Zoe is a scientist and Widmore doesn't know much more than anyone else? What does he want? Does he want to tap into the energy of the island for personal gain?

It reminded me of Naomi saying that the crew he sent on the freighter were ill-equipped for the job. Of course, he DID send mercenaries that time, which didn't work either...

    So, Keamy isn't dead?

He and Mikhail have some mad surviving skills, that's for sure! I thought it was interesting that Mikhail got shot(?) in the eye...

What do we have left, only eight episodes? That makes me so sad... :(

  14. Anyone get misty-eyed when Jin was looking at the photos of Ji Yeon? because I ... probably didn't, being very masculine and all.

    :yes But I'm a girl, so it's OK. :P

Locke is the only one who's life seem a little better in that he doesn't hate his father and is still with Helen.

I agree. Locke seems to be the only one who's really doing much better in the sideways flash. Maybe Hurley too, since his luck is a complete 180.

  15. Desmond! I knew it would be him.

:yes I'm glad to FINALLY have Desmond back. :wub

And I know it's the romantic in me, but I just love the Jin & Sun storyline. I'm curious as to why they aren't married in the ALT. It was cool to see Mikhail again, too. Random thoughts.... :lol I need some time to digest, as always.

  16. While I highly doubt the following theory, I do find it rather intriguing on so many levels: What if Jacob & MIB are one and the same kind of like Smeagol & Gollum. You know whomever was banished there alone started to develop a split personality and voila two separate identities.

    Fight Club: Island edition.

  17. Sayid has truly lost his way, if not his soul.

He has been creeping me out since around the time he killed Dogen. And just sitting idly by while Claire tried to kill Kate? Creepy, creepy, creepy!!!

I hope that Hurley becomes more than the comic relief who comes to the rescue by accident. His character has a deep tragic core that really shines when explored.

I keep expecting Miles to catch a bullet. He is the only one left of the boaties and his story has seemingly become 'Lost'. He speaks to the dead...Hurley speaks to the dead. He makes wisecracks...Ben makes wise cracks. He is Sawyer's little buddy...Kate is Sawyer's little buddy. I see him meeting a nasty end soon.

Agree with it all. Hurley has a big role to play, I just know it. And I've been expecting Miles to be killed off for a few weeks now. I did like how this week's episode had him as Sawyer's partner in the sideflash, since they had become so close on the island.

And I just had a thought: are we now looking at team Jacob, team MIB, AND team Sawyer (i.e. team save your own ass)? I can't believe this entire show is going to be done with in a little over two months... :ohwell
