Nonlinear Nonfiction
In order to listen to live shows on my ipod I have to convert them from flac > wav > m4a/mp3 ...is that kosher? What are my options here and will I be scolded for uploading shows to bt.viachicago.org if they are not lossless quality? How many of the shows uploaded to bt.viachicago.org are ACTUALLY lossless, or were they converted from mp3 > wav > .flac ?
gogo
They should all be actually lossless, never gone through an mp3 phase. What I do is convert the FLACs (or SHNs, or whatever) to mp3, and keep those on my hard drive/in iTunes. Then I archive the FLACs on DVDs, so if I want to send anyone a CD of a show, for example, I can just pull them off the DVD and convert to WAV for burning.
Nonlinear Nonfiction
Alright, that's what I thought, just figured I'd confirm it here. Now I wish I had been saving all those lossless files that I deleted over the last few months!
burns3
I keep all my FLACs on my hard drive so I can listen to them on my stereo through my Tivo.
