So, as best I can figure from that game, when a speeding freight train collides with a giant flying "C", the train wins.

Barely. :unsure

Or in other words, confirmation that Native Americans are screwed when the railroad comes through their lands.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- While their schools are making millions of dollars off their appearance in the Bowl Championship Series title game, each of the players from Ohio State and LSU will at least walk away with one of the hottest gifts this holiday season.

The Buckeyes and Tigers will receive a Nintendo Wii video-game system in addition to several other gifts for participating in the game on Jan. 7 in New Orleans.

Most stores have sold out of the Wii, a game which allows people in their living rooms to participate in video sporting events. A wave of the controller is represented on the screen as the swing of a bat or a golf club or a tennis racket.

The bowls presenting the Wii had to work hard to reserve enough of the games.

"It was not easy," said Mark Neville, a spokesman for the Holiday Bowl in San Diego that also is giving the Wii. The Alamo Bowl in San Antonio is the other bowl with the Wii in its gift package.

Along with the video-game console, each of the Ohio State Buckeyes and LSU Tigers will get four Wii games, a baseball cap, a watch and a fleece pullover.

According to NCAA guidelines dealing with amateurism, a bowl can spend up to $500 per team member. Each school can also give merchandise worth up to $350 per player.

"We try to get a feel for what kids like to have," said Mike Schulze, spokesman for the Outback Bowl in Tampa, Fla., which is giving a Sony digital camera, a custom ring and a watch.

As is the case in most homes, electronic gadgets are extremely popular.

The participants in the Rose Bowl, Illinois and USC, will receive a Sony Bravia home-theater system. The Sugar Bowl is giving the players from Hawaii and Georgia a Sony digital camcorder.

The Capital One and Champs Sports bowls, both played in Orlando, Fla., are allowing the players themselves to get what they want. Each player will receive a $400 Best Buy gift card, and they are then allowed to go on their personal shopping spree while the store is closed to customers.

Each Ohio State player also receives six free tickets to the game, which cannot be resold for profit.

McFadden allegedly got help from an agent to help purchase a new $80K Escalade, according to KNWA. If this proves to be true, Dmac will be ineligible to play in the Cotton Bowl

Like he was going to play much anyway.

Will Darren McFadden Play in the Cotton Bowl?

Reported by: Aaron Nolan, KARK 4 Sports

Thursday, Dec 27, 2007 @06:03pm CST

Will Darren McFadden be able to play in the Cotton Bowl? Channel 4 and the Razorback Nation has learned the University of Arkansas is looking into compliance issue involving Darren McFadden. The problem is with a new Cadilac Escalade that is reportedely in Darren McFadden's possession. According to a source Darren McFadden was present when sports agent, Mike Conley negotiated the deal for the Escalade at Superior Cadillac. The source said the car was purchased and put in name of Darren's mother, Mini Muhammed. There is no confirmation that McFadden is officially being represented by Conley. KARK talked to the University of Arkansas's Sports Information Director Kevin Trainor. Trainor says the university is aware of reports that Darren McFadden has a new car and they're looking into any NCAA compliance issue that might surround it. The university could not comment any further on the issue. The important question around this issue is D-Mac's eligibility in the Cotton Bowl -- will he play next Tuesday in the Bowl? Stay tuned to Razorback Nation at 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. for the latest, and log onto ArkansasMatters.com

Sports Rap is saying they talked to Conley and he says he was never with DMac at the car dealership and that the Escalade is DMac's step mothers and he borrowed it to take it to the Cotton Bowl.

This reeks of fucked up.

Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino made his first significant hire Monday, plucking Ellis Johnson away from Mississippi State to be his defensive coordinator, the Sporting News has learned.

Johnson spent the last four seasons as the defensive coordinator at Mississippi State, and before that served as the head coach at The Citadel. He also has served as defensive coordinator at Alabama, Clemson, Southern Miss and Appalachian State.

This season, Mississippi State finished 8-5 and beat Central Florida 10-3 in the Liberty Bowl, the Bulldogs' first bowl victory since 2000. Johnson's defense held Central Florida star tailback Kevin Smith, a potential first-round NFL draft pick, to 3.4 yards per carry and 119 yards total, 69 yards shy of his season average.

Wow, I sure didn't see that Wolverines win coming. Those boys looked pretty good today, despite the turnovers. Amazing what happens when your players are healthy -- particularly your quarterback. I was quite surprised at how much pressure their defensive line was able to put on Tebow.

Good for Lloyd Carr. The man deserved better than to lose his last three games. And who knows, maybe this win will lift U-M back into the top 25.
