"You're the One For Me" by Jonathan Richman

lyrics:

If you didn't want me you shouldn't have been born

That started all the trouble now the damage been done

You never should have been born

Cuz now you're the one for me

And if you didn't want me to follow you around

You never should have showed up around my town

You never should have come to town

Cuz now you're the one for me

And it's too late cuz now you're stuck with me

Better give up, it's me you choose

I say "ha ha ha ha, it's me, you lose."

It's to late cuz now my minds is set

You better give up because i won't forget

That could never never be

Well you're the one for me

Oh baby, oh honey

Well it's too late

You're the one for me

If you didn't want me you shouldn't have been born

And we never should have met that morn

We never should have met

Cuz now you're the one for me

And if you didn't want me to want you this way

Well you never should have seen my rock n roll band play

You never should have seen the lovers play

Cuz now you're the one for me.

And it's too late cuz now you're stuck with me

Better give up, it's me you choose

I say "ha ha ha ha, it's me, you lose."

It's to late cuz now my minds is set

You better give up because i won't forget

That could never never be

Well you're the one for me

Oh babe, oh honey

It's just too late

You're the one for me

You're the one for me

You're the one, you're the one

You're the one, it's too late

You're the one

I wanted to get married again as soon as I heard Sharon Jones' All Over Again, just so I could use it somewhere.

You'd think after all this time, I wouldn't be surprised

You'd think there'd be nothin' new when I looked into your eyes

You'd think there ain't nothin' about you that I ain't realized

But every time I see you

But every time I see you, darlin'

But every time I see you

I fall in love, all over again

We're doing Love and Happiness by Al Green.

One of my favorite songs of all time.

We didn't dance at my mine.. It was a very small and short wedding.. Just shy of Vegas style actually.. I was wearing orange Chucks... But we did have the acoustic version of "Everlong" playing as she walked down the aisle..

We've got some time (and we've already got our first dance song picked out), but I am having trouble with songs while we dance with our parents. First, do we need separate songs? I figured we would each dance with our respective parents (me with my mother, her with her father) during one tune, but I'm not sure of the etiquette. I've been to seemingly hundreds of weddings, but I can't recall how most do it.

Secondly, what's a good song? I'll tell you, I'm a music guy and don't much pay attention to the lyrics and it has made it difficult to choose. I don't want to end up with an Afternoon Delight type moment (for those of you who are Arrested Development fans). I thought Nick Drake's Pink Moon would be a nice choice. Beautiful and short with no uncomfortable lyrics, but a friend says he *thinks* the song is about Drake's depression. I've always thought it was just about love. But given Drake's history, I guess depression makes sense.

Any other suggestions?
