I know this got the lovely Saint Genevieve in trouble once, but I'll admit that I don't really know much of the Replacements.

Also, I've been thinking about how much I'd have liked to have had Natalie's contribution to this list. I loved pretty much everything she ever recommended to me. :music

I can tell you that XTC would probably have higher rankings if she was contributing.

Bummer of a technicality on that one. :ohwell Someone else had "#1 Record" as their #3 choice. Since these were two separate releases, I counted them as separate entries. If I'd counted them together, they would have hit at #64. :thumbup

Some people that did this survey must have thought this was Bob Dylan's top 100 albums.

I don't own a single Bob Dylan album. :P

Some people also must have thought their was an information cut off date of the late 70s.

Big ups to gogo for an awesome job with this!

Good to see I'm not alone in my Big Star love. I only went with the 2-fer CD because I couldn't bare choosing between the two records. Any of the first 3 Big Star records could've made my list really.

6 out of 20. apart from the fact it would have been nearly impossible to work out, i wonder what the list would have looked like if we'd done 100 choices instead of only 20? also, i'm a bit surprised the zombies and scott walker didn't make the top 100 - what's that all about?

We would have got several choices in common (Randy Newman, Judee Sill, Fairport Convention, Scott Walker...)

They weren't in my top 20, but easily in my Top 100

Yep, most of those artists would've made my list too (I like Judee, but she might not have cracked my top 100.) Doris Duke and The Zombies would also have made it.
