first action debut? in what movie?

yeah excited about M Ward music but i will have to say i saw him live and he was great but very short show about 70-75 minutes, he didnt seem too into it, ive read he'd rather just record music and be in studio instead of playing live. i guess i caught that vibe.

weird... i've seen him over a half dozen times since '01 and never caught that vibe from him. i don't see how 75 minutes is a "very short" show either, unless you're used to jam bands, but on the last proper US tour he was playing 90-100 minutes.

Woot! Great news. I want to hear that collaboration with Connor and Jim.

Post-War is one of my all time favorites, I think.

I saw the movie The Happening last night (meh) but notice Matt Ward was credited with part of the music, anyone know if this is the very same M. Ward?!

Solace - let me restate it differently. I liked the show, would go see him again and again. There was energy but M. Ward seems like a quite reserved guy so i am not expecting loud guitar jumping around, cursing into the mic or anything like that. the show seemed short to me because i thought he could have played more with the given time, show ended at or around ten pm. not into jam bands so wasnt expecting 2.5 hours of guitar interludes. i just read that he prefers studio to stage maybe i read too much into it.

looking forward to the new album and projects!

I've played Post-War five times in a row since yesterday, and if you except the first track which is really great ("Poison Cup"), the rest doesn't grab me. It even tends to put me to sleep.

I've listened to all the M.Ward records (except a really early one under another name, I think), and there's only one I find great from start to finish: Transistor Radio. But I think I'll buy the one to come, 'cause Lucinda is a guest, and her vocal presence can only add something.

Matt played on her new record as well, but I've yet to hear it (the CD is on its way to me).

wonder how many of these are covers. I herd him do Oh Lonsome Me a year or two ago and it was awesome. Could there be some buddy holly and kinks action on there?

I can't imagine listening five times in a row to an album I don't like.

More exactly, playing an album five times in a row to be sure it makes nothing to you. I guess I don't hate it either.

Lately I've been playing all the CDs I hesitate to keep. I need to get space on the shelves.

I got nice surprises - some CDs I didn't like much and now like a lot. But mostly, I find more space on the shelves now.

Matt is by far my favorite artist post '00... can't f'n wait for this

i'd say Transfiguration of Vincent is my favorite, followed ever so closely by Post War. after that, End of Amnesia and Transistor Radio are both awesome as well.

Yup, and he keeps getting better with each album.

while i prefer Transfiguration of Vincent to Transistor Radio, and sometimes ToV more than Post-War, i think i can fully agree with you on this (alert the media!) ;)
