Hello,

I was just wondering if anyone around these parts were interested in these types of music.I seem to be enjoying it more

than any other things that I've been hearing lately.I think it's mainly because I've been making music for a while and I

find myself more interested in making sound than actual"songs".I've not seen much about music that is non rock on this

board and was curious to see if any of you were into this sfuff.

I guess I'll just list some stuff and see if anyone has anything to say.

Lamonte Young

Kevin Drumm

Otomo Yoshihide

Tony Conrad

Terry Riley

Jim O'Rourke(non Drag City)

Mimir

Morton Subotnik

Yoshi Wada

Sachiko M.

Karlhienz Stockhausen

John Cage

Milton Babbitt

Derek Bailey

Stuff like that.

Do you like it?

ppppppppppppppppppppppp.forever.

I've never heard Xanakis. What would a good starting point be?

If you're into drone and haven't checked out the Lamonte Young and Marian Zazeela album called

Dream House 78'17"you should give it a try.The track "Drift Study" is amazing.

It's about fourty minutes and is all sine tones.
