:lol yeah. i am pretty stoked about that card. looked up the restaurant online. it's really snazzy. i plan on eating there before going to see neil young at the fox in may.

i wonder how the band picked the winners?

i'm a little bummed nobody else has really chimed in on the show... maybe after the weekend more folks will chime in.

I used to work with the executive chef of Miller Union. I haven't been there yet, as it's in a part of town I rarely get to. I hope to go there soon. It's probably the most highly acclaimed new restaurant in Atlanta. The chef is a really nice and multi-talented guy (he used to sing and play guitar in a band called Seely...they're worth checking out). I'm sure it'll be fantastic. Congratulations!

I was at the Atlanta show. The sound was not very good in my section, and I couldn't see anything but Michael's head for almost the entire concert. Plus, many people in front and behind me were having loud non-stop conversations through the entire concert, despite Jeff Tweedy asking people not to talk during the quieter parts (which did no good whatsoever). Seems to be a pattern with Atlanta audiences. I guess that's the downside to liking music that HAS quiet parts. I imagine crowd chatter is not a problem at an AC/DC show, or Megadeth maybe, in which every song is full blast from beginning to end.

Overall, a disappointment, but it's not the band's fault. I'm considering not going to see Wilco in Atlanta anymore. Luckily, they play in nearby cities more often than they play here, anyway.

Knoxville last April remains my favorite Wilco show.

i guess i was lucky, because the sound was great in the pit. i remember the last time the band played atlanta there was a lot of crowd noise too. it seems like a lot of folks go to shows in atlanta to be seen by others, and not to see the band. such a shame.

spiders in the acoustic set: :worship

great, great show in a great, great venue. the sound wasn't the best i've heard, but, hell, considering they played for nearly three hours, i consider that neither here nor there. it was my ninth show, and i heard some songs i had never heard live: can't stand it, nothing'severgonna... and a couple tracks from w(ta). i liked the new arrangement for casino queen as well.

and i am partial to knoxville shows as well, jff. last april's was top notch, and the first time i ever saw them was in knoxville at the tennessee (which of course is my favorite show).

patience guys, jeez. don't you remember when it took MONTHS for a show to appear? At least give it a week. Hopefully it will be up within a month though, that'd be awesome.

Until then, what did ya'll think of the show??

I've gone searching for my fair share of recordings, for sure, but my goodness. Some people are looking for downloads the morning after a concert. Can't we just bask in the memory of a great concert for a while before we become obsessed with trying to find documentation of it? Just my $.02. Not hating on the show-hunters...

you you could check the correct sub-forum. there's a designated place on this board where specific recordings are posted/discussed. this forum is for discussing the actual shows.

it was pretty snazzy! especially from your seats, lol. it's way nicer then the fox in st. louis. i really enjoyed the lighting @ the show & even remarked that i had never really paid attention or remembered wilco even having something like that as part of their shows, the exception being one year @ the auditorium theater in chicago. i think it was before mikael was really in the band & he was doing it. but i could be totally wrong about that.

the stripped down part of the show was just awesome. and standing next to my mom who was singing & dancing along to a bunch of the songs was even better!!!!

The backdrop was gorgeous! I enjoyed that the "candles" in the back were synchronized with parts of songs. I keep having dreams about the show. The only down side the whole night was that stupid drunk guy.

:lol

my sister and i were talking after the show about laminated cat, and she said something like "Jeff has a thing for cats doing weird shit, doesn't he?"... never really thought of that.

One of the most fun moments was during "I'm the Man Who Loves You" when Glenn stood up on his drums he said "Let me hear you, motherf*ckers!!" I screamed like a little girl. So awesome. Also, this was the 3rd show I've seen Glenn wear that shit. It's awesome.

My first wilco show was at the fox 6 years ago (maybe 5 i'm not sure). Last friday was my 5th time seeing the band and probably my favorite.

I loved the evening with feel. The way poor places deconstructed into the wonderful acoustic set and how airplane to heavan lifted things back off into the "plugged in set".

I loved the acoustic spiders and casino queen having never heard those songs like that before it was a great treat.

The sing along for most of Jesus Etc was really cool. From handshake drugs forward the band just seemed to be on fire.

Great show although I don't get how some folks come to the show and chit chat through it or leave to go to the restroom when SPIDERS comes on?!?

thats just me though.

I was 4 rows back in front of nels (4 rows behind the pit that is)

Great time and great show by the band. I loved the ending but i was hoping for one or two more as I so wanted to hear monday, but it was all good.

Here's my review for the school paper.

Wilco is the hardest woking band in American rock music. Friday March 26th, they proved it at the Fox Theatre. Since their inception in 1994, Wilco has released seven studio records, a live double CD set, and 2 DVD’s. Truly, at the core, Wilco is a band best experienced in a concert setting. They’ve name a name for themselves grass-roots style, through a hardcore fan base, and a reputation for meticulous live performances. The set at the Fox Theatre was nothing short of remarkable, and personally one of the best concerts I have ever attended. The “Evening With Wilco” commenced shortly after 8 and ended a bit past 11. Lead singer Jeff Tweedy was a humble frontman. Throughout the show, Tweedy joked with the audience. The band even held a raffle where lucky fans won gift certificates to Atlanta eateries. In an age where rock music places value on image and posing, Wilco brought an honest, engaging, and uplifting performance. Many times throughout the night the voices of the crowd overpowered Tweedy. During “Jesus Etc.” the singer stepped away from the microphone and let the fans carry the song. The band blazed through 34 songs, highlighting fan favorites, and specific requests. The band alternated midway through the evening into a stripped down acoustic combo that made the 7,000 seat theatre feel like a suburban living room. In addition to stunning musicianship Wilco had an intense light show. Candelabra-like fixtures outlined the stage, and they danced and flashed along with the music. Perhaps the most intriguing aspect of the show was the band’s ability to maintain order and chaos in perfect synchronization. ”Bull Black Nova” in particular, with emotive lyrics and powerful sonic bursts best captures the true essence of the band. The show perfectly captured the pitfalls and euphoria that is the human experience. Impressively, the band played straight through with no intermission, only leaving the stage before the obligatory encore. At the end of the night, as fans filed out of the Fox Theatre, the mood was at once light and exciting, and one thing is certain. We had all been apart of something very special.
