Some really cool stuff showing up on You Tube

I was lucky to see that when it aired. I think I still have it on VHS.

I would love to have heard Tony Margerita's conversation with the LA musicians union in which he stipulated that the string section had to be as hot as possible. I wonder if he had to pay extra for them than for whatever schlubs were available.

Awesome find. Never saw that one before. That video lead me to this one ...

Check out Tweedy's hair! I guess I haven't seen a lot of 2000-ish videos. Weird style...

Billy Bragg had an integral role in that performance making it obvious why he had top billing. Jay's coat should have been sold at the merch table.

I think they actually have a special union for hot string players; I've rarely seen a televised pop-orchestral arrangement with ugly ones - at least, the ugly ones didn't get screen time. Some Celine Dion television performance comes to mind - lots of that shit on VH1 from the '90s.

Same here, but my VHS copy is in very bad shape. But isn't this on one of the JHamm DVDs? I'm pretty sure I have that, too.

I've never heard of this. Is this a homemade compilation, or something?

And speaking of youtube/Wilco tv appearances, why has it been difficult to find Wilco's Jay-era Austin City Limits appearance? Or, for that matter, Sessions at West 54?

The website is actually down because Jesse was having some troubles with it. Jff - PM me if you're interested in some DVDs - I've got about 100. I'm painfully slow sometimes, but I have some computer-oriented work to do these days and might have a better chance at getting you something before you join the AARP. :lol

Not nearly as integral as the guy in the background with the tambourine and drum stick.

I think that it is actually "The Section" an LA based group that has played on a bunch of peoples records. They play used to play Largo often so i'd imagine Glen knew them if no one else did. Good group.

The album is credited to "Billy Bragg & Wilco," so...

Wilco would be just as extraneous if they'd played something like "Ingrid Bergman."

I was browsing through the vimeo site and found this backstage footage of Wilco.....pretty cool to hear these songs in a different light.

It was shot by Zoran Orlic, I think he takes a lot of the photos that are up on wilcoworld.

Very cool.

When I see that type of stuff I wish they had that for Led Zeppelin.

There use to be a pinned thread about The DVD Project - which I thought was a great idea.

I think we have a few up at The Wilco Archive.

It would be great if someone could make the DVD Project stuff available again through a torrent or something. I've got about 10 of them but there's still loads of good stuff I would love to get my hands on.

Some of them do appear on torrent sites from time to time.

It's seems to be mainly a B&P through the mail sort of deal.
