Best FICTIONAL Bands

Recommended Posts

How to define a fictional band?

Let's just define them as a band that was created as a character in a fictional story.

So, The Monkees and Spinal Tap DO count (even if they did have a real hit).

But, prefab bands like Spice Girls and Backstreet Boys do NOT count.

Oh, and said bands MUST have actual music out there that we all can listen to.

That said:

• The Monkees

• Spinal Tap

• Dr. Teeth & The Electric Mayhem

Best. No contest.

Others I can think of:

The Wayouts (Flintstones)

Dingoes Ate My Baby (Buffy)

Zack Attack (Saved by the Bell)

The Rockafire Explosion (Showbiz Pizza)

The Lone Rangers (Airheads)

What's Johnny doing out on a Tuesday night

Johnny can't read, Johnny can't write

Kids just don't understand

Johnny don't care about the world

As long as he can do his girl

And prove that he's a man..

He got wasted, eating ludes

He's teenage and best of all

Getting high proving he's cool

Johnny hates to think that he's ignorant

He's a mindless brainwashed BITCH

Ring a bell and he starts to drool

Degenerated

Degenerated

And our minds are vegetated

Degenerated

Degenerated

Our actions are imitated

He's got PCP in his veins

He's gonna put a bullet in his brain

Addicted to the TV

When he's old he's gonna have a son

I said they'll both be a deaf and dumb

What's to be come of young Johnny?

Degenerated

Degenerated

And our minds are vegetated

Degenerated

Degenerated

All our actions are imitated

How about Flight of the Conchords?

Also, what was Homer, Mo, Apu and Barney's band called in the Simpsons? They were pretty good.

My votes are for Daft Punk and Gorillaz.

But they were formed as bands (cartoon though they may be), and not for another fictional medium.
