2011 tour dates?

Recommended Posts

I'm sure that the more motivated VCers were able to figure it out! :)

The most atractive date is the San Sebastián one by far. Not only the date matches with a weekend, but the venue is truly amazing.

And this is more great information! I wish I had the time/cash to make it to Spain this year (or, ever).

As long as we're speculating about 2011 tour dates, I want to put in a plug for the beautiful St. Augustine Amphitheatre. It's a fantastic award-winning venue. Rumors abounded last fall that Wilco was negotiating for a date there on the "Evening with Wilco" tour, but it never materialized. They played in Savannah instead. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for North Florida!

That's a pretty decent Amp, but my favorite Wilco show of all time was the Florida Theater in Jacksonville. Absolutely sick acoustics and they played a killer show. Plus a bonus, I was introduced to Bon Iver's music

Yeah, that was a great show! But I feel too hemmed in at the Florida Theatre... there's always that "Stand Up/Sit Down" tension, where folks who want to rock out are in the way of those who want to remain in their seats. Can't understand why people would want to sit through a Wilco show. (Unless they have a bad back or something).

**Speaking of favorite Florida Wilco shows, mine was many moons ago in Gainesville, during the YHF tour. Jeff said that the roadies picked the set list, and the band played all the balls-to-the wall songs like Monday, Casino Queen, Outta Site, etc. I was in heaven!

I agree on the Florida Theatre show....it was great but people wanted to sit down.

Last tour I saw both the Fillmore Show and the Tampa Show...no contest with Fillmore better becasue of the GA standing vs. reserved in a theatre.

I have been to almost every Florida show since YHF but I did not go to that Gainesville show. I saw the show at Carefree in Palm Beach and that was a great show....bare bones with only 4 members at that time...and I remember they did We've Been Had and they did Laminated Cat.

I hear you there. It's b/c there were a bunch of season ticket holders there instead of just Wilco fans, so they were clueless. I drove up from South Florida for it and was thankful that Tweedy finally just told everyone to get out of their seats. After that tension lifted, they put on a stellar show.

Was at the last Fillmore show. Honestly, it was really really sick and they played forever so that made me very happy. I loved the acoustic set and the request set. Definitely something I've never seen them do before.

Good News about the dates in Spain. I'm from Spain, have seen Wilco once in Madrid and last year at the first show in Montclair NJ.....

Would be great to see them in San Sebastian this time, looks like a amazing venue for Wilco....probably better than the venue in Madrid.

I'm waiting to listen the new album!!!

My friend works for the memphis in may organization, and he says they've pretty much locked up the band for beale street music fest this year, at the end of april

Well that definitely is good news! Hopefully we will get some Florida dates prior to coming up to Beale... maybe they will play sun fest this year in Palm Beach...

your getting so famous wilco.i know kc lacks decent venues, but please dont switch over to playing sandstone, ever.

They could always return to Crossroads again -- it's a great spot -- but they might be too big to play there now. The Uptown show in 2006 was solid, that'd sell out if they played there again. Maybe the folks over at the new Kaufman Center would get adventurous and book them there, like the folks at the Strathmore in Maryland (booking a rock band in a classical hall).

I was hoping that a major spring and/or summer tour announcement would accompany the Solid Sound announcement but what i'm guessing is that they want to sell some 3 day passes to that event first before they announce where else they'll be. I noticed there isn't the "only east coast show this___" on the press release (like there was last time), which is a good sign.

I for one will still be going to solid sound if they play the town i live in (a possibility considering we have a 3,500 capacity venue). In fact i'd go to both. I'm not off base in assuming most fans that would go to Solid Sound would see another show (or two or more) on the tour. Right?

awesome! i'm going to the toronto one for sure! i haven't been around on this board too much lately... lurking a bit every once in a while.. but anyway, "hi, everybody!" i first joined this board in 2005ish, and i was thinking of going to see JT solo in Calgary. i asked some people here "i have never seen Wilco or JT - is it worth the drive for JT solo?" (i was coming from Edmonton - 3 hrs away), and people were like "yeah - Wilco play everywhere all of the time. you'll have many chances to see Wilco - but Jeff doesn't do THAT many solo shows. this is a rare chance!" i forget who it was, but that's what they said. so i went. it was awesome. a bit short (festival), but awesome. whoever it was who was telling me that - you were totally right. Now, 5 or 6 full Wilco shows later, i'm pretty excited i'll get to see Jeff solo again! and in a nice sit-down theatre.

Suites, I just found this post of yours and it cracked me up. I went to that Gainesville show in 2002, and it was the best Wilco show I have ever seen...but I'm still jealous, because you caught the Palm Beach show: I've never seen We've Been Had live!
