Likely always gonna be the best cover ever, as far as I'm concerned. Lanegan's version is great, but Cobain blows him away.

When Kurt opens his eyes wide at 3:57 it is shattering.

This has to be a candidate for best cover ever. Pretty sure I read that Dylan thought this was the definitive version of the song.

Neil Young has done some great versions of this song too.

I agree and was going to post it myself. But I figured some things go without saying.

Like Aretha Franklin's cover of "Respect" by Otis Redding.

Yeah, I didn't realize that she wasn't the original artist either until a few years ago. I'd say her version of that song is even more definitive than Jimi's version of "Watchtower".

Sorry, Lennon fans, but this version is MUCH better than John's original version.

(I just wish that I could find the original album version on YouTube, but alas... This is still pretty close.)

One of my favorite songs of all-time. While most folks who know this song know it as a Dave Edmunds song, it was actually written by Jim Ford, and I am more familiar with it as a Brinsley Schwarz song. (And theirs is my favorite version.) Still, this is a pretty good version. Loves me some Webb.

(The song performance begins around 1:40 or so.)
