If the Bruins do win tonight, I will need to find a bar close to Mass Moca to watch the game at. I've seen Wilco 20+ times, as much as I'd hate it, I would skip the show Sat night to watch the B's win the cup.

Any ideas for bar close to Moca to watch a game at?

Public Eat+Drink is within sight of MassMOCA on the other side of Rt 2. Great spot, tasty range of beers

Yelp identifies restautants/bars with TVs. Any place in town with a TV will have the game on

I told my wife the other day that Wilco at Solid Sound is just about the only thing I would miss the B's game for!

Please follow me on Twitter and Instagram to share some SS fun. http://twitter.com/paulcalypse http://instagram.com/paulcalypse Has anyone heard anything about exclusive vinyl at the festival this year?

That's a good idea. I'll be posting a lot of pics on Instagram too. Mine is : http://instagram.com/briansimpson

The only exclusive vinyl I've heard about is the Nels/Julian Lage single. I'll be grabbing that for sure.

As a Chicagoan, I must interject in this thread to say: GO BLACKHAWKS! BEAT THE BRUINS! :thumbup

I'm not even the biggest hockey fan, relatively speaking, but I'm glad that no one will have to miss Wilco's show on Saturday now to watch a clincher...

Oh, and hey Paulcalpyse...in additon to that Nels/Julian Lage 7", the Blisters will also apparently have an exclusive 7" on dBpm that will be sold at SSF. Those are those only "exclusive" releases I've heard about. Safe drive to you guys!

A short message to each and every one of you who will be there (especially for the Friday night shenanigans)

I'm not really the sort of person who goes for the arty-farty MOCA stuff, nor 'artisan food', and the 19th century industrial architecture is a bit depressing to those who have plenty of it in this country, but Wilco and Neko Case alone is a fine combination indeed, and chilling with some Via Chicago members would be a whole lot of fun. Enjoy!

So, what's Mr. Tweedy's leanings?  I assume he would root for the Chicago team, but is he a hockey fan?  Will there be any Bruins-Blackhawks banter coming from the stage Saturday night?  I'm used to Trey being a Flyer's fan, but I draw a complete blank on whether Jeff cares.

Here's my two cents's on all these solid sound topics:

If you're the type whos walking the Appalachian trail, you can easily make it from the trailhead to the festival site (you likely have a hardcoreness that ordinary pedestrians do not). There's sidewalks starting about halfway(around the friendly's/Price Chopper area).

The Mohawk Tavern is across the street from Mass MOCA and will almost certainly have the game on. This being said, the tastiest Guinness in town is still at the bar at the Holiday Inn, and they'll have the game on as well, and everyone staying there will be at the festival.

If you're looking to kill these last few hours before the fest a good time killer is a printout of all the songs you're heard Wilco play live. The more shows you've been to the better the timekiller. I take the printout with me as a discussion piece on my road trips to the show. After 10 shows I've still never heard Dreamer in My Dreams, Kingpin, or even Casino Queen. "Dude, how about Pieholden Suite? Have we heard that?"       "Lemme check, yup, Tanglewood".

As for the weather, its North Adams, never ever ever ever ever expect the weather to be perfect. It by chance it is, just say thanks. But weathermen be damned, the weather is very rarely perfect.

See ya tomorrow, at Jack's around 6 6:30, Desperados until 8 8:30, and inside rocking thereafter. Safe travels VCers.

"This special edition of The Roundtable will focus on the immense variety that the festival has to offer, with artist interviews and live performances hosted by The Roundtable's Joe Donahue, and WAMC's President and CEO, Dr. Alan Chartock. Says Chartock, "We're so proud to participate in the Solid Sound Festival, because like WAMC, it's a true celebration of the arts that honors a full range of artistic expression right here in our own community."

Ugh.  Alan Chartock loves the sound of his own voice.

True, but he built an amazing public radio network hereabouts!  Beats any other I've heard, hands down, including DC, Boston, LA.

Plus they use Wilco music on their intro's/outro's.

I get it, but he knows it.  When he's talking, I turn the station.

"Once upon a time, or maybe twice, there was an unearthly paradise called Pepperland. Leagues beneath the sea it lay, or lie, I'm not too sure. Pepperland is a tickle of joy on the blue belly of the universe. It must be scratched."

i saw that all 3 day passes have sold out for the first time. curious to see if that translates to a considerably larger crowd as compared to the previous two.

I'm thinking it has to. Good for the band and promoters. We'll see what it means for the patrons. It's been such an easy festival to be at before, parking, no lines, move wherever you want without hassle. Really hope it doesn't lose those charms.
