SOMEBODY PLEASE RECOMMEND ME A BOOK!

OK, maybe all caps wasn't neccesary but I need some book reccomendations because I feel like I've hit a wall! I absolutely love Kurt Vonnegut. Some more of my favorite authors are

Phillip K Dick

Steinbeck

Tom Robbins

Christopher Moore

Chuck P (Not even going to try and spell that last name.)

I'm looking for something that doesn't take itself too seriously, yet still is a thoughful read, kind of like Vonnegut I suppose.

Any help is appreciated!

^^ I'd suggest George Saunders, or maybe J.G. Ballard.

How about something by neal stephenson? Like cryptonomicon? I enjoyed that one and I walks the line between humorous and thoughtful (IMHO).

Such a wonderful book to get lost in. ^

It really is. I'm on holidays right now and although I've got lots to do around the house, I find myself returning to it for just one more chapter before the next task.

Just finished reading A Scanner Darkly by Philip K Dick last night.

It's funny, some years ago I remember seeing the movie and loving it.

I re-watched the movie last night after finishing the book and now I hate the movie haha. Lacked the majority of character progression for Arctor and when Arctor goes through his issues near the end, the film does a horrible job setting that up while the book really made it fit the arch.
