After careful statistical analysis of the songs played and not played, the following 12 songs (along with 18 "repeats" or "modified versions") are most likely to be played tonight:

That's Not The Issue

Far Far Away

Was I In Your Dreams

Sky Blue Sky

Sonny Feeling

Sunloathe

Capitol City

Rising Red Lung

Let Me Come Home

Any Major Dude Will Tell You

Student Loan Stereo

Unlikely Japan

Ha! And Right On! Nice calls!!

Here's what I'm pulling for tonight (in lurid detail below)... LIke "Nalafej" I'd love to hear both "Sunloathe" & "Solitaire" (both of which top my album cuts choices), the latter of which is also a request of "Madcap" who shares my hopes for "Promising" (top of my non-album choices), "When The Roses Bloom Again" & "Far Far Away", & finally jw harding hits up my top choice for a cover tonight, that highlight of the AmericanaramA Tour, "Tomorrow Never Knows"- also hoping for a dark horse, because Jeff loves it so much (though it seem like a Tweedy song for now, I hope Wilco does it someday) with "Love Like A Wire".

If last night was any indication, & it might not be...we'd guess that if they added 8 more newbies last night from the albums & one or two fresh non-album rarities/covers & a few different versions of songs maybe & then who know's what for the quartet of songs for the hootenany finale, & the choice for the closer to Winterlude (for that matter wonder what they'll open with? And how many & what they will choose as outright repeats tonight- 14 last night or about half the show)...

My wish list... my choices are almost all slower ballad type numbers, but these of some of my absolute top shelf favorite Wilco songs...I love the stuff where I can feel the Nick Drake/Paul Simon/John Lennon shading...

Unplayed Album Tracks (think we could see 6 to 12 of these, if we're lucky)

Solitaire

Sunloathe

Sky Blue Sky

Far Far Away

Open Mind

Black Moon

Red Lung Rising

Sonny Feeling

Please Be Patient With Me

When The Roses Bloom Again

Non-Album Tracks (Probably not too many of these, one or two, or more if we luck out):

Promising (done in Port Chester & jaw dropping breathtaking)

One True Vine

Tomorrow Never Knows

Love Like A Wire

Sloth

Glad It's Over

Venus Stop The Train

And Your Bird Can Sing

Any Major Dude

Only The Lord Knows

Hootenanny Set & different versions...

Note- Port Chester saw "Casino Queen", "That's Not The Issue" & "Ripple", so I think those are likely candidates for the Hootenanny set... alternate versions?- "Unlikely Japan", "Hummingbird" & who knows what else for any of this bizznezz (though, off the top of my heard, I'd love to hear "What Light" get the hootenanny treatment), just looking forward to unwraping the surprises when I see the set list & know what'll be on the download- which will hopefully be available before the holiday...

Didn't they do Tomorrow Never Knows with Weir?  Have they ever done it just as Wilco?

They did it with Weir first, but... I saw them do it two other times. In New York with Sean Lennon, Beck & Cibo Matto all on stage (it followed "Yer Blues" & Beck also did "I Am The Cosmos" with them that night too), and, best of all, I saw them do it in Michigan with Richard Thompson sharing vocals with Jeff & lead guitar with Nels, right after they'd done a 15+ minute workout on Thompson's "Sloth". Mind blowing!!!

They did it a few times on the AmericanaramA tour... my bet is that it was one of the songs they had in the running for the all-covers night at Solid Sound, but that they decided to do "And Your Bird Can Sing" instead (which was my request for that, along with plenty of other folks I'm sure, & best of all, they did it twice in a row).

setlist.fm (http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/wilco/2014/riviera-theater-chicago-il-43cd27c3.html) has the set list for Night 6 up now, & outside of the hootenanny set & "Far Far Away" & "Blood Of The Lamb" it's all repeats...so a bit less exciting as a download, but I'll get it just to have all six of these & because it looks like a pretty amazing show nonetheless...Here it is...

I really thought they might go out with Jeff saying, "Not only this this the last show of the Winterlude, but it's the last show that we'll ever do." And go into a cover of Bowie's "Rock and Roll Suicide" leaving the entire audience scrambling for refunds on their Solid Sound tickets, hotels, airfare, etc.

What a great run of shows. It's easier to post what they didn't play than what they played. All of YHF, A Ghost Is Born, and all the Tweedy/Bennett songs from Mermaid 2 were performed.

I find the lack of whole love songs very surprising. I was under the assumption that at least two or three of those were in the regular rotation

Me too. In fact, I would have guessed that we would get all of them, except maybe Sunloathe. Not complaining by any means, though, but just surprised.

I think they've just got more slow songs in their catalog than they can fit, even across six nights. As far as "Whole Love" songs, I think "Black Moon" and "Rising Red Lung" are two of the best songs on the album. I hope they make a comeback at some point.

They did 4 of the 5 pretty regularly on the tour for the album- they did the whole album, save for "Sunloathe"...I saw them do "Black Moon", "Red Lung Rising" & "Capitol City" myself- still haven't seen "Open Mind" yet.

Look what they did over those 6 nights (on paper since I haven't heard them yet, but judging by the 3 Port Chester shows I did see...) looks like it was probably about as great a live run as I can think of, by anyone, ever. So remember that, as I say this... If they were going to run short on any album, I wish it hadn't been "The Whole Love" as it's probably still my personal fave, but... I'm pretty sure all of those, except "Sunloathe", are out there somewhere on other Roadcase shows, so it's all good. The other ones I'd have to loved to have seen them take on were "Solitaire", "Sky Blue Sky" & "Promising"...OK and "Please Be Patient With Me" too... but again, they didn't set out to do the whole catalog & they still almost did it...and while missing 16 songs, they did even more than that many non-album tracks. I look very forward to hearing the Roadcase shows of these!!

First of all, to whet your appetites for the forthcoming Roadcase releases of all the Winterlude shows, the WXRT broadcast of Night #2 is now up to listen to on youtube!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sYJWdMnJTyc

Second...So now we gotta find out who is gonna do the leg work to find out which Roadcase shows these 16 missing songs are on? ;)

If, in fact, they all are. Soon enough I'm sure, all the Wilco catalog will have live version of te songs out there...very cool!!! And remember before the official Roadcase releases there were donation/free downloads of two shows from 2009 to raise money for I can't recall what... So there should be access to find most of these out there somewhere or anything. If anyone want to chime in with where to find the best versions (Roadcase especially, but Owl & Bear otherwise too) of these missing songs, feel free to share & enlighten all concerned.

And finally, beyond the above list of the 16 songs they didn't do, here is the glory of the tangible stats of what's gonna be on those 6 Roadcase show... what isn't here in the numbers, though it's hinted via the lists is the absolute magic of it all. I missed out on the 2008 residency (although I've listened to the shows), so this is just conjecture I suppose. But I feel like the Winterlude was less gimmicky and more of a natural run of shows, less constrained by a preordained set of rules or whatever. Also very different in intent from night to night, more of a dynamic swing throughout, or narrative arc, if you will.

It was also incredibly cool that the setlists were so varied and exciting throughout the 20th anniversary thing in general. Having caught only the Milwaukee show (Winterprelude?) and the 12/11 show, I personally have never been more impressed with the straight-up playing of the band, the energy, or the thoughtful crafting of the setlists. I was expecting good old reliable Wilco but these shows were so much more. Revelatory, I'd venture. I don't remember the last time a band I love surpassed my expectations so profoundly. I'm still not even able to be sad it's over with.
