Best Songs Under 2 minutes

Recommended Posts

So I was making a Spotify playlist the other day of songs that are under 2 minutes, and was trying to find songs that are complete songs, not just short instrumentals or breaks between real songs (White Album, Wowee Zowee, Tommy, etc.)  I was surprised that many of my favorite bands have some pretty good complete songs under 2 minutes, here are some of my favorites.  Do you guys have any personal favorites to add to the list?

Never Talking to You Again - Husker Du

I'm In Love With A Girl - Big Star

Buzzards and Dreadful Crows - Guided By Voices (kings of the under 2 minute song!)

Three Girl Rhumba - Wire

Communist Daughter - Neutral Milk Hotel

Welcome to the Working Week - Elvis Costello

Time Between - The Byrds

Zurich Is Stained - Pavement

Hold On - John Lennon

Road - Nick Drake

You Can Do Better Than Me - Death Cab for Cutie

What Deaner Was Talkin' About - Ween

#1 Hit Song - Minutemen

Feeling - The La's

Son of a Gun - The La's

Fortunately Gone - The Breeders

Words of Love - Buddy Holly

Black Sheep Boy - Tim Hardin

But I'm Different Now - The Jam

And, yeah... a hundred or so GBV tunes.

Also, I gotta give myself a plug, as I think this is a pretty good one at 1:51:

there are a ton of awesome punk rock songs and GBV songs that clock in under 120 seconds, so i'll skip those.

they don't have a lot of short songs, but this is a great lead track

i forgot you can't embed more than one video... four is the max # of images one can post. oh well.

speaking of great intros, this is called "Intro" and features an aborted start that they decided to leave in.

Thanks!

And, I forgot that it's a Spotify list you're making and my song is on Spotify, too... if you were wanting to add it.
