Want to make a big shout out to those VC'ers that I have met so far - you have been outstanding company (which I expected - R and G) to say the least and you have demonstrated incredible hospitality - exactly what I expected from Chicago, having been here before.

You have made my weekend and rescued it from the depths of despair, having initially found myself in a shitty situation.

Also a big shout out to the rest of you, your apathy has been an inspiration to me to help people from out of town, wherever I may be. All turn 90 degrees and pat each other on the back. Fuckers.

God bless you all, and may you all discover the Smiths and Bona Drag, no matter what stage of your 20's you are struggling with. I did. It was a good move.

I should add to this that as a result of my friend not being able to make this I have an extra ticket for the weekend that I am selling at face value or best offer, not greater than face.

Dear all,

I will be attending Lollapalooza in approx ten days and needless to say I am very excited as not only am I getting to see one of my favourite bands in their spiritual home, I am getting back to one of my favourite cities, Chicago. That is a big deal beacause as an Irishman living in London for the last four years, I don't get to visit very often. However, having spent a summer working in Chicago and living two blocks from Wrigley as a student nearly 7 years ago, I know how much the city rocks.

However, this excitement has been tempered by the fact that my friend that I was due to be travelling with has had his plans destroyed by his inconsiderate f*ckhead employers who require him to stay in Ireland . This leaves me as a solo voyager for the weekend, something I am not altogether comfortable with.

So I am hoping that some of the VC Chicago (and beyond) crew attending the festival might extend me a welcome and consider hanging out/having a brew or two with me over the course of the weekend. I would love to meet up with you guys and I have always wanted to meet you when I eventually made it back to Chicago.

My quick blurb:James, 27 yrs old, Irish, living in London last 4 yrs, likes loads of music, sports (all the usua ones for a European - soccer etc, but unusually also likes baseball - big Cubs fan) - am attending the whole weekend and looking forward to seeing Wilco (obviously), My Morning Jacket, New Pornographers, The Frames, Flaming Lips, Ryan Adams, Sleater Kinney, Iron and Wine etc and of course, Chicago. Likes a beer , likes Chicago nightlife etc, and staying Northside for the weekend.
