  1. I know this is a little out of the ordinary, but I have 2 tickets for the DAR show and am looking to see if there's anyone with two extra tickets to Bruce at Verizon this Friday for trade. I have a friend who is dying to go to that show but wasn't able to snag tickets and I'm hoping I can work something out for her. Let me know!

  3. Just got back from the show, but unfortunately, I'm no help. I can never remember setlists. They opened with Wilco (the song), followed by I Am Trying to Break Your Heart, and after that I can't tell you. They played Shake It Off which was the most requested song for the night. Jeff gave one of the gift certificates to the guy who had requested it and asked him if he was a savant, as he had requested it at least 30 times and "no one likes that song...except for Glenn." Jeff seemed to hate the Richmond crowd for the first half of the show. Lots of bad looks at people and even telling someone to shut up mid song. Luckily I wasn't around any loud obnoxious people, although two drunkards wandered their way over and talked through Deeper Down until enough people told them to shut up and leave us a lone and they wandered away. They started a few minutes after 8 and ended at 11:10 on the dot. My 11th show and definitely one I'll remember.

  4. come on dude, you saw a 2 1/2 hour tour ender and 98% of your review was about the crowd? sure it sucks but that's been happening at GA shows since before we were born.

in greg's defense...i was standing in the exact same place and it was one of the most obnoxious concert experiences i've ever had. this was my 2nd time seeing wilco at the charlottesville pavilion and the show was ruined by drunken assholes both times...and it's not just general admission shows...this was my 8th wilco show...7 of which were general admission..and the only 2 to have crowd problems...charlottesville...and the problems have not just offended and irritated myself but also the many people standing around or near me...i even went as far as to complain to someone after the show...after a nice discussion, she admitted that she had never thought about it that way and what i was saying completely made sense...whether or not this was just lip service to get me to shut up, she said i should send an email to the general manager of the pavilion..his name is kirby...i urge anyone else who had problems last night or at the previous show (as most people i talked with agreed they had the same problem at the last wilco show or at another show at the pavilion) to send the general manager an email asking them to put barricades at the front of the venue or increased security. the lack of a barricade not only causes a problem with pushing, shoving, and all around douchebag tendencies of people who like to cut up to the front halfway through the show...but people that get there early can't see anything as the stage is so tall, standing up front makes visibility next to nothing...however, venue problems aside...

i thought the show was good...i agree that it was a slow builder at the beginning, but the last half was absolutely fantastic. pat was pretty hilarious the whole show and the band seemed to be in good spirits...i can't wait for more shows next year.

ps..greg..i'm assuming i was standing next to you during the show from your description... i was the guy in the blue and grey shirt...thanks for your ass kicking to help all around you enjoy the show

  6. yeah...i was the one that started the thread about the silly rule at first...then, i had heard through the grapevine that they had abandoned the decision to only let students on the floor...so my friends and i got there a few hours earlier..and waited with a bunch of people..none were students...when they first opened doors..we thought for sure everyone could get on the floor...we even talked with the students working the show to find out what the fastest route to the floor was...they then "officially" opened the doors...we sprinted down with all of the other people to find students waiting at the floor, only allowing those with student IDs on the floor. i felt bad for the poor kids having to work the floor, they had to deal with angry people who couldn't get on the floor when it really wasn't their fault at all...the guy who was running the show nervously paced until 7:30 when he decided it was okay to let non-students on the floor too...while i got on the floor, and wasn't that far from the stage..it was a mildly frustrating situation, but at least i was prepared (since i had heard about it earlier)...this post makes no sense...i'm sorry...just thought i'd put my 2 cents in.

  7. you can thank me for wishful thinking..ha! but in all seriousness, i met jeff at the williamsburg show, and i asked him if he'd be willing to take a request for the charlottesville show..he said sure..and i asked if they'd play wishful thinking...he responded "sure, we can do that"...when they started playing it at charlottesville i about fell over...easily one of the greatest moments of my life.
