  1. I saw TOTD in Philly Friday night and it was amazing. For their first real show the band was tight. There were a few glitches and I'm sad I didn't get to hear River of Deceit but I got nothing to complain about. I'd never get to see Pearl Jam in such a small venue so was happy to see TOTD. Mike McCready was on fire, especially on that Sabbath cover. So good.

  2. It will be interesting to see what the TOTD shows bring.  I was able to score decent loge seats for the tower-right place right time.

Also got MSG through 10C.  We shall see.  Cant say I am overly excited, but seeing Cornell with PJ as the backing band should be fun.

I'll be in Philly as well. I'm super excited!

  3. Josh Ritter put on a fantastic opening show. One of the best I've ever seen. Isbell was fantastic as ever. His live shows keep getting better. Such good playing. Unbelievable setlist.

I've seen Isbell several times but haven't seen Ritter despite being a fan of his for about a decade now. I'm excited to take some family to the show so they can see what my fandom is all about.

  4. Not sure about the 15 minutes, because I watched both Pearl Jam Fenway shows on periscope, mainly from one scoper. And multiple people scope during the show. Nothing the band can do about it unless they specifically ask people not to and even then I doubt people would stop.

  5. Jason Isbell and Lucero tonight at Red Rocks. Every time I see him it's in a bigger place than the last. Good for him.

I follow JI on twitter and he was more than appreciative of being able to play there. That's just one of the things I love about him as a musician.

  6. Just a potential update on this...I was fortunate enough to be able to attend the taping last night and they were saying it might actually air on Wednesday 9/14 instead of Thursday 9/15 as originally scheduled. I don't know for sure, but might be worth setting the old DVR for both nights just in case. :thumbup

I'm not going to spoil it for anybody whether Jeff wins the Internet or gets the (dreaded?) red light, but suffice it to say that he held his own pretty well. There was also a change in the lineup as originally scheduled. Jen Kirkman still appeared, but instead of Reggie Watts, the third contestant was David Koechner from the Office and Anchorman films among many other things. He's a big Wilco fan — I think he mentioned that he's going to tonight's Wilco show at the Ace Hotel — and he wore a fedora-type hat in solidarity with Jeff.

Also keep an eye out for one of the short promos they cut with Jeff and host Chris Hardwick doing a little back-and-forth about playing a song (Sand Dollar!). Hardwick also gave the vinyl version of Wilco Schmilco some good screen time, though he couldn't get one of the records back into the gatefold sleeve and also poked a little fun at the vinyl format. :lol

A good time seemed to be had by all! The actual taping was like an hour, but the show itself (at least as aired) is only a half hour, so it will be interesting to see how they edit it all together. :rotfl

I love him on The Goldbergs!! This should be a fun show. So envious you attending the taping.

  7. Not seeing Jesse H for a long time overhere, hope his health problems are over. Also havn't seen Solace for many a moon.

You have to be on twitter these days to catch Solace.  :thumbup

  8. I'm about 2/3 of the way through Season 2 of "Rectify" and loving it so far.

Awesome show! Ready for the next (and final) season.

Took me a month but I finally finished all six seasons of Shameless. Loved it. Now I need something else to start on.

  9. Ironic I see this topic this morning as I am riding back from my number one I believe. Pearl Jam last night at Wrigley. For starters your standing ON Wrigley field...I would pay a lot of money to do that alone. No opener, Eddies home town, last night of tour, Ten turns 25 in a couple of days, just a really , really special feeling in the air. Saw Wilco the night before at Pritzker which was obviously really special too but Eddie just has an amazing ability to take a really huge, epic production and make it really intimate. Easily the best outdoor concert I've ever seen. Maybe I will reevaluate after the buzz wears off but I think I just witnessed something really special.

I was at Wrigley, too, and I believe it may be #1 for me now or at least a close second with Paul McCartney last year.  Can't believe they played Of the Earth!! And, Stone sang which was something I thought I'd never get to see.

  10. It's funny that Pearl Jam are the top of that list.  I actually wrote their Random Setlist Generator (yes it was called that!) in 2002.  They sent me a database of all their songs which contained certain parameters, album, tempo, odd tuning, Eddie plays guitar, etc... I asked if they wanted any tags like 'opener', 'closer', 'encore', 'played last night', they said no, keep it wide open.  So they would enter the amount of songs, max number of songs of the same tempo in a row, max number of songs from same album in a row, max number of songs Eddie plays guitar on and then a set list comes out.  It was a real fun project I still have the paystub and code (Perl/Tk) somewhere.  For years I had tickets waiting for me for any show I wanted, then Brett stopped doing house sound and the tickets vanished, unfortunately I had dropped my 10 Club membership and I lost all those years of seniority when I rejoined.  I always got a kick out of friends thanking me for the setlist last night, for what it's worth I'm pretty sure they tweeked the setlists after they came out because alot of the setlists I would get were way out there.

Very cool! Too bad you lost the gig, though. I was at Wrigley on Monday night and thought the setlist was great although my wish would've been to play more Yield. I heard they only repeated a few songs from Saturday night (haven't yet had time to check).

  11. I could not resist the joking shout out for more base after another two bass locator. I thought Jeff might have used two guitars that i did not notice (maybe just me) in Madison or Minneapolis. Thinking maybe ones he does not like to risk the road travel? Yes, muy caliente to get What Light. For now static setlist but playing really well. I also liked Jeff mid guitar strum adding a few claps for Pat's banjo solo as the crowd noted Pat's playing.

Thanks so much for the ticket. I had a great seat!  Saw Jeff's wife a few rows ahead.

  12. New album is pretty good. To my ears everything they have released since reuniting has been very good to great.

Apparently J sat in with Pearl Jam at Fenway the other night.

Yeah he did Rockin in the Free World with them last night. I wasn't there but watched on periscope. Pretty incredible. I'm sure there are videos floating around (I'd post here but don't know if it's allowed).

  13. Cassadega has a lot of country influence and feel going for it.  I don't know if I'd call it alt-country but it's the most country Bright Eyes album in my view.  And a damn good album at that.

Surprised to see Emotionalism ranked above Being There... It's a great album, but it's no Being There.

This. And I'm a huge Avetts fan, especially of their earlier stuff. Four Thieves Gone is a great album.

  14. Heading to Fenway Night 2 on Sunday

Searching for a last minute drop after stage goes up Thursday ..

Should put hoping instead of searching..

Just saw on their forum that 10c tickets were released this morning.  I didn't try in the lottery so I guess that excludes me, though.

If they were playing closer to me, say Atlanta, I would totally go. Wish they were doing more than 5 shows.

I'm that girl who's quoting herself....ended up getting tix for Philly Night 1. Just tried on a whim, guess that's the secret. I know all the shows sold out pretty fast.
