not quite as amazing as his last one, but still a DAMN fine record
I agree. But I can see a few of these new songs, turned into shout-longs live. And his live shows are where it's at.

I saw that movie Friday and didn't even notice Wilco in the movie.
I guess this means "I'm just NOT that into Wilco"

Pieholden with horns. Enough said.

Saw him in April opening for Josh Ritter. Only heard him on myspace. I kinda dug it.
But when he played live, he, even as an opener, tore the roof off the place.
I went out the next day and bought everything he's put out.
He's playing TT's in Boston in early June and I will be there.
Great find!

Bonny Tyler's "Total Eclispe of the Heart" might singlehandedly be the best song of all time.
Why else would it be the only song in my head for the last 6(that's right six) months.

Best setlist I've seen in my 10 shows. Surprises at every corner.
They never cease to amaze.

I'm happy for you Ellen. I got your message. That's pretty crazy!
It couldn't have happened to someone who wanted it any more than you.

Happened to me in Massachusetts when I was 17. No really the exact same story. Weird.
Anyway, 6 months probation, and had to go to underage "offenders" classes at the local courthouse for 2 hours on Thursdays for 8 weeks.
And no it did not hurt my record. It's still there, but I was hired by Federal law enforcement agencies after college, so it's not that bad. Just be honest if anyone asks.
You'll be fine. Unless off course your in Suffolk County.
(Oh, and if this is past Atticus posting for current Atticus, watch out for 2004, it's gonna get rough)

That's it. Thanks.
And I can't believe I got the words wrong. I hate when people do that.

These were some of the lyrics in a song before Wilco went on stage in Boston on 6/28. I cannot find anything in Goolge or itunes even close.
Anyone know this song?

Show was phenomenal. Great to meet some VC'ers and hang out preshow right up front. I have even more respect for Nels after standing in awe right in front of him the entire show. He simply plays the balls off the guitar.
Slept in the car overnight and had a pretty rough day afterwards. Well worth it considering the drive from Boston @ 6 AM and coming back within 24 hours.
Here's some pics from the show and soundcheck in Boston:

I did not get the drum head, in the pic. Me and another kid caught it at the same time and I lost it in a rock, paper, scissors match that lasted 7 rounds. Oh well!

Low is a fairly low key group and frankly not a great opener. As expected they lost the crowd about halfway through their set, by taking too long between songs. They played a bunch of numbers I expected (though I dont' know their entire catalogue) and I figured they would do their usual low key shtick, which frankly comes across better on record than in person (this is my second time seeing them of late.) I know they are friends of Wilco's I suppose, but a bit more energetic group would have held the crowd who in fact were very respectful during most of the set, until the slow and lowkey songs tried most fans patience and they started to talk. I have seen Wilco fans be far worse to opening acts.
Actually the older guy wasn't me......I was about 5 rows back.
Had a great time, met Atticus I think (Paul???) and WilcoWorshiper. The entire band was really enjoying themselves including Mikael who cracked quite a few smiles during the set and Nels who seemed particularly focused and having fun. Jeff was a stitch as usual when he got going. Particularly handing out the sweatbands to the band.
This was a particularly nice setting as well. My friend Chris who was further back on the lawn, opting for a piece of lawn during the early part of the show said the sound was impecable, which was also pretty good closer to the front as well. I really would recommend this place to see any show. The pines in the background (hence the name the Pines) a seen in the pic of Nels were a beautiful backdrop. Everyone looked so happy to be there and those near me were saying that the last time Wilco played there he said it was his favorite place to play. The weather was perfect, Jeff jumped out into the crowd for the Hummingbird dance and it was a fab night all around.
I do now like seeing Wilco away from home. Meeting new and different fans is very fun. vGreat time. My furthest Wilco show from Chicago. Now if they would just play Chicago....(guess I am glad I didn't go to NYC, not that I had that option...)

Great show. Hot, stuffy, crowded in front.
Aside from the fact someone in front of me kept farting, which smelled like Easter ham, all in all an outstanding show.
Can't wait for Boston tomorrow night.
