  1. HOLY CRAP!

I've seen Wilco too many times to count, since the early beginnings, and this was by far the greatest show yet.

The crowd was awesome, nobody sat down the entire show. The band was on fire! They really seemed to be having a great time...

until some a-hole decided to start a fight right down front during the encore. The first thing I saw was some guy climbing up onto the stage in front of the PA system, but then I realized he was just trying to get security's attention.

Not to dwell on the fight, because the show was fantastic. But the fight really took the air out of the room. Until that happened, the crowd was singing every word. The band was having a great time and tearing it up.

Nels was the first to notice and immediately called for security. The band finished the song and all went to the front of the stage where the ruckus was and made sure it was taken care of. They played another song or two and the show was over.

I don't remember the setlist. I've never been good at that. But everything they played was spot on and the show was amazing, despite the actions of one moron. It was a great mix of old and new. Just a fantastic show. I can't really explain how great it was.

All in all, a GREAT show! Going to have to figure out what other shows on this tour I'm going to be able to hit.

Now if Domino's would show up, I could eat and get some sleep.

  2. Wilco-the-baby's parents? I expect you to introduce yourselves and perhaps show off current baby photos of your adorable son. :thumbup

That's us...but, without rescanning the thread, has there been any decision on a pre-show get together? An easy place may just be the bar at the Radisson connected to the theater. Or, back in '92 there was a good dive across the street that we went to after the Frampton show to find the band sitting at the end of the bar...

    We'll bring pictures...

  3. Wilco's parents will be there ;). We're driving down in the afternoon and staying at the Radisson attatched to the theater. We'll definitely be up for a get together.

As far as the theater, I saw Peter Frampton there back in '92, but I was so lit I don't remember much about it.

  4. what a doll! :wub

Yeah, my wife's pretty hot. ;)

Anyone else in Iowa excited that they closed out the AGIB tour in Des Moines, and now are kicking off the US SBS tour in Davenport? I think it's pretty cool...

  5. Just FYI - your picture in this thread is protected and causes some sort of a pop-up asking for a password to idisc.mac.com (well, for me anyway).

But anyway -- happy birthday, Wilco! :lol :birthday

Thanks for the heads up...I don't know why that server does it. Try refreshing. I moved it to my other server.

And thanks to everyone for the well wishes.

  6. that a really cool picture! i wonder if little wilco likes the rock band wilco?

When he was still just days old, I used to play Jesus, Etc. to calm him down when he started crying, so I'd say yeah, he's a fan.

  7. I submitted these two as a pair (in case they didn't believe I really named my son Wilco). Haven't heard anything one way or another, but they've still only posted the "seecond" round of photos, and I submitted after that.
