  1. The Replacements

    Trip Shakespeare

    Talking Heads

    The Specials

English Beat (they tour now, but not the full original line-up)

King Crimson (whoever mentioned this earlier is dead on)

Decendents (again, whoever mentioned these guys...great call...kind of forgot about them)

    UT

    Jayhawks

And can bands like Styx, Journey, REO and Kansas just quit once and for all? Ugh.

  2. The Replacements getting back together would be bitter sweet. No Chris Mars. Certainly no Bob...not even Slim Dunlap. Don't get me wrong, the 'Mats are one of my favorite bands of all time and if they actually did this, I'd try and see them as many times as I could (granted they put a full tour together). To see Tommy and Paul on a stage together again would be a dream come true, a bitter sweet one, but a great dream come true all the same. They'd either blow everyone away and create a whole new chapter to their mystique and history and acquire a new fan base or totally suck by being incredibly inconsistent, piss off people going to see them for the first time and simply reconfirm to the older fans that they were the quintessential "one foot in the door, the other foot in the gutter" band of all time.

  3. Is there anyone out there who would be willing to share some insight/tips on how to add album cover art to iTunes? The mechanism iTunes has is fine so long as what you have is in their database...but it also puts the wrong cover/artist to things from time to time (one of my Stevie Wonder recordings now as album art from the Bangles...go figure).

I would like to learn how to delete album art. Also, for bootlegs and such, is there a way to 'create' your own album art and then add it? Learning how to do that would pretty much rule. Lastly, are there any websites where you can obtain album art for your iTunes collection?

Thanks in advance for the kind fellow MAC user who replies or shoots me a pm.

  4. Someone mentioned Eight Miles High...that whole late '60s southern CA pop shit comes to my mind as well. Eight Miles would simply kill...Nels could do that guitar solo at the end like a mad man. I've also thought about California Dreamin. They certainly have the vocals to pull it off. Back in the day (BT tour) I saw them play You Shook Me All Night Long...and yes...it rocked like nothing else, so maybe they could pull out Highway to Hell?

  5. catching my second wind...dude that's really funny (and true!)! You're in tosa...we need to get a drink sometime! Brianne, now that I think about it, you may have been sitting right next to my friend Andrew. Are you the one Jeff hugged at the end of the first set?

  6. Drove in from Milwaukee and had a great, great time. We were lucky enough to have first row seats...right infront of Nels. I must have been just a few seats away from 'omahawilcofan'...great shots, by the way! Watching Nels do his magic was simply amazing. Good God can he play.

It was also really cool meeting some VCers, especially Donna! I am forgetting names right now...my apologies, but it was damn cool chit chatting with folks before and after the show. Was also really cool meeting the band. I've never been one to hang out after shows to do that, but am really glad I did. Totally nice guys, those Wilco boys are. Watching Glenn interact with that kid who got his drum sticks was awesome...he was just so nice to him. Cool stuff.

  7. Congratulations for having the 'balls' to post something critical about the band. Like it's been said, we're entitled to our opinion and reading something that doesn't praise the band as demi-gods is actually a little refreshing. Plus it is kind of funny to read the reactions...especially the ones who seem so personally attacked. Good god personally attacked one(s), Mick and Keith said it best, "it's only rock n roll."

  8. Dreamer in My Dreams was such an amazing surprise. But then again, so was Screen Door and Lost Love. Best set list I've ever seen him do solo...and as far as the shit head frat boy, I too was pleased that JT put him in his place...and with such humor and wit. Whoever that taper is...dood prime spot!

  9. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones... I'm going to the June 19 show in Chicago. Having followed what they played on the European leg of this tour and now last night in Philli... the 19th simply can't get here fast enough. For those of you who are interested in hearing their new songs, I believe the Radiohead At Ease site has links to some if not all of them in one way or another. http://www.ateaseweb.com/

Thanks for the review and for those of you about to jump...
