I saw the Sunday show in Atlanta. Amazing. They played everything I was hoping to hear, except for Embassy Row. They said their show the previous night in Maryland sucked, and that Lollapaloza sucked. I'm not sure if they meant the '90s Lollapalooza, or a recent one. They were clearly enjoying the ecstatic response in Atlanta.

 

Anyone go to the Maryland show? I wonder what the deal was there.

I was at the Maryland show on the lawn and they played stellar, but the pavilion in front was pretty empty, which I'm guessing could have been the reason for their disappointment. Lawn tickets were free as part of Virgin FreeFest and pavilion seats were $125, so the majority of the people were far away from the band.

VD, are you in Durham, NC per chance?

If on the off chance you are, check out Chaz' Records (Not 100% on the name) that is right next to the Cosmic Cantina off of 9th Street. He has some pretty cool vinyl there, new and old.

This is probably true, but vinyl on this site is expensive. What you need to do is move. What kind of vinyl are you looking for? New, old?

I'm all over the map with my vinyl tastes - everything from Hot Tuna to Sonic Youth. While moving does seem like a logical thing for my record collection, I don't think the wife will accept it as a reason. I'll try some of these sites for now - thanks everyone.

It is quite frustrating. I've been on at 10:00 and .00001 seconds for both pre-sales and have been shut out both times. This has never happened to me before. I'm hoping Saturday will turn out a little better.

I've been working on a novel for the past year and recently took a break to write a literate-fiction short story to try to get something published in an e-zine, magazine or literary journal in hopes of having something out there before I start sending out my manuscript. sweet merciful crap, who is running these companies? yes, lily allen playing the fillmore takes me right back to the days when miles davis and santana and neil young would play the fillmore. i'll admit, the one in denver is pretty nice, but what's the purpose behind this?

i was a diehard hartford whalers fan from connecticut and it broke my heart when they were stolen from us. i actually live in north carolina now (for reasons not related to the whale) and go to games in my home whale jersey. i just can't bring myself to put on that awful red sweater.

i'm taking a much-needed vacation to italy in the coming weeks and was wondering if anyone has read any good books lately they'd recommend for my journey. i'm a voracious reader but i'm having a bit of trouble thinking of new titles. some of my favorite writers are michael chabon, jonathan lethem, arthur nersesian, etc., if that helps any. thanks!

i heard pick up the change on an american airlines flight before takeoff. usually it's that acoustic mood music but not this time. i was on my way to my wedding and it calmed me down very nicely and freaked me out just the same.
