I must say that I like that... It sounds kinda popish, sortof a mix of "The Police" and "Steve Miller Band".
Anybody know how to rip this and yousendit?
Here are the lyrics btw....
So glad that you found someone
Someone and so fast
It's time to let go of someone
and put it to rest
And I don't feel sorry for you
Not sorry at all
No I don't feel sorry for him or for her
My world is gonna revolve
It's gonna keep spinning around me doll
The world where no-one belongs to her
and you're the one she thinks she wants
It's true, she's lovely in blue
So now that it's underground
and they're talking too fast
whatever they're talking about, it's not me,
It's all in the past
And I don't feel sorry for you
I'm not sorry at all
No I don't feel sorry in fact just the opposite
My world is gonna revolve
It's gonna keep spinning around me
The world where no-one belongs to her
and you're the one she wants
My world
My world is gonna revolve
It's gonna to keep spinning round me doll
the world where no-one belongs to her
and you're the one she thinks she wants
she thinks she wants the world,
the world she thinks she wants
and it's hers and you'll never get through
oh god it's so true
it's true,
it's true, she so lovely in blue

You look across the table with those guilty eyes
So many mornings now I shouldn't be surprised
When you lash out at me and you scream out in the night
What could you have done to get in such an awful fright
Is it all that bad that you think I shouldn't see
Well who you gonna talk to if you can't tell me
(chorus)
Where'd you hide the body
Where'd you stash the loot
Just keep your hands where I can see them
So I don't have to shoot
There's a smoking pistol at your side
But you swear it's not the one
Where'd you hide the body
Where'd you get the gun
Where'd you hide the body
Where'd you get the gun
When cornered you complain about the state of your career
And you look intently straight ahead pretending I'm not here
And you look me in the eye and tell me it's not about us
Then you tell me I'm so silly to be making such a fuss
So everything's OK but your nervous as a cat
What's that say about me that you think I'd fall for that
(chorus)
Where'd you hide the body
Where'd you ditch the gun
Keep your hands where I can see 'em
Make no attempt to run
You used to always throw me off the trail
I guess those days are through
Where'd you hide the body
What's consuming you
Where'd you hide the body
What's consuming you

If I make it through this year, I think I'm gonna put this bottle down
Maybe as time goes on I'll learn to miss it less than I do now
Think I'm gonna tell her that I'm gonna go away for a while
Till I can get this demon out
You know the bottle ain't to blame and I ain't trying to
It don't make you do a thing it just lets you
When I'm six feet underground, I'll need a drink or two
And I'll sure miss you
Take me piece by piece till there ain't nothing left worth taking away from me
The highway's humming in my head and it's hard to hear
Won't you read my lips if I pull you near enough
Could you read my fortune in the bottem of this coffee cup
Tell me how to tell when I've had enough
If morning's a bitch with open arms and night's a girl who's gone to far
Whiskey is harder to keep than a woman and it's half as sweet but
Women without whiskey, Women without whiskey
Whiskey is hard to beat
Whiskey is hard to beat

AWATT, I'm guessing you would respond well to Cold Roses.
I think any NOOB should start with Heartbreaker... It's usually a pretty good cd to hook you to RA. But you could also go ahead and start with the 48hours yousendit link provided a few pages back... I LOVE 48 HOURS...
HALLELUJAH, WALLS, ANGELINA, KARINA.... Man oh man, those are some great songs.
The linked "Destroyer" w/ Gillian Welch and David Rawlings is also really good

It'd be fair to say Ryan will play "Dear Chicago" at Lollapalooza, right??
No, because he didn't play "Oh My Sweet Carolina" in Myrtle Beach or Charleston. Yet, he played it in Atlanta the next night. That man has no rhyme or reason. He did play "Hickory Wind" though, but he played that in GA as well. So that's probably a new staple, and I thought he did it just for us South Carolina folks:hmm

I saw RA and The Cardinals in Charleston on Friday. It kicked some serious ass. He did play too much "Love Is Hell" for my taste(one of my least favorite RA cds), but despite that it still rocked. You can tell they are on a tight schedule. Ryan is doing VERY little talking at the shows and just trying to get in as many songs as possible. For the last 3 songs he was glancing at his watch(I only noticed because I was on the front row standing directly in front of him). It was clear that he was on a deadline of some sorts(whether out of respect to the roadcrew and the venue, I don't know). But he was clearly enjoying himself, so it wasn't out of spite. And he hasn't been drinking either, just straight business it seems. Tje show was a little over 2 hours of straight music and a tiny intermission.
Highlights of the night for me were Houses On The Hill, Hickory Wind(Gram Parsons), A Kiss Before I Go, To Be Young, Dear Chicago, and Elizabeth You Were Born To Play The Part(stunning encore, could hear a pin drop..I didn't like this song prior to witnessing him play it solo on a piano 3 feet from me in a silenced room of over 1000).
My RA list of albums, it's ever-changing though(released and unreleased):
1)My 2 b-sides, demos, and rarities mixes
2)Gold
3)Pneumonia
4)Heartbreaker
5)48 Hours
6)Strangers Almanac
7)Cold Roses
8)Faithless St
9)JCN
10)Destroyer Sessions
11)Fucker Demos
12)Demolition
13)Forever Valentine
14)Suicide Handbook
followed by a DISTANT few that rarely see my cd laserbeam.....
33)Love Is Hell
44)Rock N Roll
57)29

When JT is an old man reeling from the loss of his lifelong true love... Then you might hear us say his stuff is "too depressing". That's where the distinction lies.
I love "sad bastard" music... See my admiration for Ryan Adams. But sensory overload is always possible IMO. This new Johnny CD is beautiful, just so so so very sad...
And it reminds me of my wonderful grandfather who is seeing he's love(my grandma) slip away to Alzheimers. She's not on this planet anymore(in mind). And without her, he is lost. Man I don't won't to get old!! It hits home to close for me.

It's completely and utterly depressing and probably won't get many spins in my cd player. But it is powerful stuff to be sure.
