  1. Each of the older albums has held the number one spot for me...not so much sbs or wta. Maybe because these came out after I became an obsessed fan.

in terms of quality/greatness/genius the order goes like this

    1 Summerteeth

    2 YHF

    3 Ghost

    4 Being There...shoud be higher

    5 WTA

    6 SBS

7 AM...love this album to death

  2. I realize the album has not even technically been released yet...but...The new album has been on repeat for me since it leaked a little less than a month ago. Don't think it will ever be considered one of the "best" wilco albums but I just haven't really been able to put this thing down since i got a hold of it. For those of you who are not holding out till the end of june...are you still obsessed with WTA???

  3. saw them open with via chicago...and damn that song is just plain explosive, especially with how those freakout parts come from nothing. I figure that if i was hearing/watching wilco for the first time and the first song i saw was via chicago, my jaw would drop...and i would wonder how'd they do that.

  4. Who all can attest to this song blowing them away time and time again.

Definately one of my favs of all time and while I love the studio version the live versions are always kept fresh and unbelievable.

  5. What is with all the negativity. What in the hell do you people expect. Ive been to lots of shows before at lots of venues. I had very little problem with anything that went on during the night. I would dare say I quite enjoyed myself and Wilco was absolutely superb...they reminded me once again why they are simply the best.

Sure the announcer guy was annoying and the mulch kinda sucked but big deal get over it...from my point of view its a very small price to pay to see wilco. and all you people who are saying how they thought wilco was in bad spirit--because apparently Kansas city is the worst city in America--are just ridiculous. you people don't know the band, and are probably taking a small instance out of context.

anyways i think we can all agree that the music absolutely rocked. I have not been following wilco's set lists of late but man the a.m. and being there was totally out of left field and amazing--oh and not to mention "shes a jar.

  6. wow reading through all of these is awesome...i agree with just about all of them. But, i especially like this one

    Hotels hold me.

    Thoughts horizon.

    So many hearts,

    beating in one place.

    Like a giant,

    beast with many souls,

    No,

    just a body

    full of holes.

  7. Not sure you can necessarily compare the "greatness" of old bands like the beatles and wilco, but i think of the last 20/30 years or so wilco is way way up there. For me, personnaly i think they are number one. The biggest arguement i have for them is that you can listen to Wilco doing anything--working out, relaxing/going to sleep, driving, playing guitar with, singing to--and it always seems to be perfectly intune with what you are doing. This goes without saying, but Jeff Tweedy is an absolute song-writing genius. His musical ideas get portrayed beautifully in all of his work.

  8. impossible germany. Is there any question here. Three soaring, intricate guitar scatterings fill the final minutes of this guitar epic. As nels gets into that controlled yet chaotic tremolo picking i always get goose-bumps and proclaim that this is the best freaken solo ever.

muzzle of bees, side with the seeds, spiders (live versions), blue eyed soul are some runner ups.
