trand- thanks for your kind words. but i dont feel as though i was "shot down"...there are no right or wrong answers here. i think i got a littl verbose. what i'm really trying to say is wilco's stage antics do not compliment their music, which i think is too good and too serious for silliness. that's all. and yes, put me in the crowd that wishes they opened the setlist a little more. but i think that about every band out there.

i was behind dirk nowitzki and kyle kozar. neither were into the band but blocking my view. if i was 6'5" i wouldn't have cared! and as for the people who say that a crowd doesn't impact a concert experience...go to a phish show and dont mention "hippie" or "weed" in your review. whether its a Rage show, a blink182 show, michael mcdonald or rush, the crowd is totally a part of the experience. wilco is comprised of human beings. your concert experience is your interaction with them. you aren't also impacted by the human beings around you?

i disagree. some of my favorite bands are older bands that have maintained that edge. Radiohead, Widespread Panic, Black Crowes, hell the Stones. i am not smart enough to tell you what it is they have done that wilco hasn't. wilco is worthy of otherworldy expectations. you disagree?

a few things: 1) i wasn't seeing wilco back in the AM days. think the first show i saw was 2002 or 03? i don't mean to big time anyone with tales of yore. 2) "Tweedy interacting with the crowd is what makes the show that much more enjoyable" i disagree. can we share of love of jeff's artistry but disagree on his stage presence? i like him better singing than talking. and i feel that way about most musicians. ryan adams can KILL a show with banter. music is art. it puts me in a "place"...extended stage banter disrupts that for me. 3) watch the IATTBYH doc...that was a group of guys w

longtime wilco fan. my take on last night...curious to hear your feedback. this isn't a debate, i'm not "right"...just one person's opinion. Wilco has become one of the most confounding live acts in music. They have the complete package: songwriting (songcraft, melody & lyrics), musical chops, a good catalogue and whatever “it” is.
