I have a Technics SL1200 MK2 and I swear by em. I fully believe that when aliens discover our planet and want to know how we listened to music, the SL1200 is how they are gonna get the info. The thing is an absolute tank that should be all accounts last for decades, even under harsh use....

so any word on when these vinyl reissues from pallas germany will be released? i have been out of the country for a few weeks and have been out of the loop. thanks!
The one I got was an original pressing from Germany. But the word is that the re-issues of AM, Summerteeth and Being There are due in September.
-
I could not wait and sprung for a German copy (brand new) of Being There on vinyl via Ebay. It sounds sooooo good on my turntable...
-
I think its a cinch for a top 5 placement, there were little to no releases this week that you would choose over it, if you were a Wilco fan already.
-
I love Breakfast at Sullimays, always entertaining....

Wilco really know how to do vinyl. Loving WTA on wax! I now only need AM and Summerteeth to complete my Wilco vinyl collection.

This was a promotional item sent to radio, really funny, it will hang on my wall....

Just got my hands on this really funny, and awesome promotional item.

I take back all the bad things I said about Nonesuch as my LP was waiting for me when I got home yesterday! And the mp3's showed up in my inbox this morning!
-
I'm sorry to keep complaining about this, but I am wondering if I am the only one having problems with Nonesuch preorders. My single was delayed, and I received no notification of shipping until I finally called.. Then I received the single 6 days late. I also preordered W(TA) on vinyl, and I have had no notification of shipping, and it looks like I will have further delays. It is rather frustrating...
I also ordered the single and the full and have received neither yet. Hoping that changes soon.

I took my 11 year old to the Cincinnati show last night. His first concert ever, I wanted it to be a Wilco show. He really had a fun time, and I would recommend it to other parents. Lots of people came up to us and asked if it was his first show with big smiles on their faces. After the set, the woman behind us asked if I had dropped a 10 spot which was on the ground. I said I had not, and she gave it to the boy, saying she wishes she could take her kids to Wilco shows, but they are too young.

I took my 11 year old to the show, his first concert ever, so no matter what it was a win. If I am going to be critical though, I would have liked to have heard one or two more from Being There, which has a really strong bunch of live tunes, but it sounds like they had to wrap up by 11. More stage banter is also part of what makes seeing Wilco live, it was to a minimum.
On the positive side, Nels burned up the stage on Impossible Germany, and although he looked like he was in severe pain during Misunderstood, Glenn was brilliant. The new stuff sounded great to me, the red lights and general build of Bull Black Nova was a standout, and Sonny Feeling was fun. After Sonny Feeling Jeff remarked "We'll be back here in a year and you will really wanna hear that one".... I guess because it was one of the few songs that everyone did not know all the words to already.
I will have a full live review with pictures from my photographer up early next week and will be sure to post em here.....

They weren't so bad. I caught the second half of their opening act... but wilco blew my brains out. I was standing about 10 feet from Nels and watching his eyes go white during the Impossible Germany solo. OMG that concert was great.
Totally agree about Wilco last night, just brilliant. As for Heartless Bastards, their set was super short, under 30 minutes I think.
-
I've been studying up on the opening act and I am extremely not interested in seeing them... does anyone know when Wilco will actually be on stage?
Your loss, Heartless Bastards are great....

Awesome news, setting the DVR asap!
Wilco -- 10/8/09, Cedar Park, TX

I thought the crowd was great. Hell, a dude even proposed to his girlfriend in the aisle next to me during Im The Man Who Loves You. That dude that got the Nolan Ryan ball was right in front of us and it was cool to see Jim Scott get a shout out in the front row.
Yeah, Cedar Park sucked, but I felt worse for people in the bowl sections, that had to be shitty.
Liam Finn was brilliant as an opener by the way. Glenn joined him for Red Wine Bottle and he and Eliza joined Wilco for California Stars.
