  1. I'm disapointed but I saw them at ATP in the UK in April of this year. So, I'm probably not as gutted as those who have not seen them in ages.

I live in Liverpool and I usually go to the Manchester shows. They were playing the usual venue that I have seen them at since the Being There tour and it's always packed out. Wilco are more popular now in the UK than they have ever been, so I would be amazed if it is down to poor ticket sales. Although, having said that, the tickets were nearly twice the price they normally are for Wilco. They came to over

  2. My first reaction was that it was ok but not Wilco's best. I would have given it 3 stars out of 5.

Now I'd say 4 stars and after seeing them at ATP in UK at the weekend, those SBS songs really take on a different life on stage.

I'd say it was about the 7th time I've seen Wilco and definitely the best I've ever seen them

  3. Collection of indoor venues...

If there was someone I REALLY wanted to see, I made sure I got there early... which is what I'll be doing for Explosions in the sky, Wilco etc...

same here and you can add Mogwai to that list!

  4. are they? Almost never hear them on the radio, hardly ever get written about in any music mags/papers..?

They were the best thing on at Glastonbury that year, as we were leaving, one of the guys on the gate was randomly asking the punters who they enjoyed the most, I answered "Wilco of course, they're actually the best band in the world.."... I don't think he believed me .. :P

you wont hear them on commercial radio or Radio 1, maybe Radio 6.

they get plenty of favourable coverage in magazines like Word, Mojo and especially Uncut.

  5. Nothing yet on the rumours front. Last time they played to a mostly empty field as they played at midday??? The time they played before, they came on the 'other' stage mid afternoon, Jeff said something like hello motherf**kers, and proceeded to become my favourite band ever since that afternoon. I think they need a little help from the radio over here if the festivals are going to be any use in getting them more known... but I'm happy the way things are..

I'd go to All Tomorrow's Parties, but there's only the larger, more expensive appartments left.... will they really come all the way to England just for that one show???

I was in that mostly empty field in 2004, think they came on at about 1:30pm.

    They were superb.

They are getting more recognition in the UK.

  6. these 'rooms' will not be the height of luxury, they will be basic in the extreme

the Butlin's holiday camps are typically used for downmarket cheap family holidays

on the plus side it seems they are building a good quality line up!!
